LWB Autosleeper T5 with Elevating Roof
This is a one off LWB T5 with full length elevating roof, designed and manufactured by Autosleeper, I suppose you could call it a prototype.
Thought I would share some photos on the forum to see what owners think of it.

Hmmm. Not sure from the photo's what the advantage of doing this on a LWB is? A bit of extra floor space and a tiny side-facing seat?

Yes I was a bit puzzled by the sideways seat, and the double passenger cab seat which won't swivel so you would lose more than you gained unless you have a need for 3 cab seats. Nice interior though, looks more homely than than some of the newer grey interiors.I'd happily give it a try out for a few months to evaluate it,

The VW Kamper Centre in the South West has been using A/S to produce exactly the same furniture kits / trim for over a year now see [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] , ever since the Trident and Trooper were dropped.
Not see a LWB version though and IMO would rather make use of the extra length with a Topaz / Bilbos Lezan layout.
Incidently... you can get a swivel base for a T5 double passenger seat, not sure if one is fitted to this model.

I wonder how easy they are to use in practice, though? Both my single front seats have original factory-fitted swivels, but neither is very easy to use. You have to slide them to exactly the right place and, even then, you still have to open the door or the armrest won't clear it. I've never managed to get the driver's seat swivelled more than 90 degrees and that was such a pain I doubt I will ever do it again...hoopman wrote:

Its takes years of practice
Your passenger seat should be a doddle, but the drivers seat does require more skill. It's always more difficult when its raing of course.
Here's the double swivel [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

the owner of the van had a double seat by choice to carry more belted passengers. Its not difficult to replace with a single.
Interesting that the Kamper centre are doing those conversions, they must also be sending them to Autosleeper.
Did anyone see the T5's that marquis were selling recently, they were bright orange and lime green. They were nearly new vehicles that went to autosleeper for conversion, they were asking around £42k for them.
