Fixing a J rail to a Symphony
Hi
We would like to fix a J rail to the side of our Symphony and wondered if anyone has any advice? We previously had a Trooper which had a J rail fixed to the dark plastic trim above the sliding door and plan to do something similar. Bertie, our new van has a wind out awning above the sliding door, fixed above the dark plastic trim, but we have a lovely big awning we'd like to be able to use sometimes.
Thanks
PennyB

Hi PennyB
Will the tunnel on the your stand alone awning not wrap over the frame of your wind-out? see my post in this thread [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
If so this would avoid the need to fix a J rail. If not you can drill & rivet the jail rail on and /or use an adhesive such as sikaflex. Also seal the rivets over with a clear sealant (as used for car windscreens).
Regards
John

Hi John
Thanks - hadn't thought of that! We'll have a try out over the weekend and report back.
Penny.

The wind out awnings have a slot in them to attach an awning.
You need some of the figure 8 plastic things attached to your awning then one of these strips attached to that.

This then feeds into the slot in the wind out.

Thanks for that Andrewjohn. I didn't know such stuff existed, so that's a great help. I will report progress when we have news!
Thanks again, PennyB.
