Hi guys first post here, i have recently bought a 1998 Autosleeper Symphony based on a Peugeot Boxer van, it has some sort of rail above the sliding door that I thought was an awning rail, but its not closed enough to hold a bead, just wondering if anyone knows what its purpose is? Perhaps a driveway awning attachment point? I have attached pics

Hi Mr P,
Welcome to the forum.
Yes it may be to feed the edge of a door awning onto, or, it may be a gutter to divert the rain either is a win.
If i'm wrong someone will be along with the correct answer soon!
Cheers
Boots

It's a J rail. I had one on my 97 Symphony. Its for use with 'figure of 8' strips to join a drive away awning or sun shade.
This is what I used it for....

Thank you Boots and Paul for the replies, i was hoping it was something i could attach an awning to!
So if i purchase some figure of 8 strips i can attach my awning tarp that has a bead at one end is that correct?

Correct, the bead goes in one side of the figure of 8 and then you just clip the other side to the J rail.peterbennett9 wrote:Thank you Boots and Paul for the replies, i was hoping it was something i could attach an awning to!

You fit a J rail or a C rail. Figure of 8's will clip on either.peterbennett9 wrote:Brilliant that’s exactly what im looking for thank you
