Yesterday was a complete wash out so it’s good to see some sun and blue sky today.

Van’s in for its MOT so hoping for a sunny result there too.

Busy morning dealing with my nuts..
Thousands of the beggars under the beech trees making the drive hard to walk on. Turned out a sunny afternoon so inspecting the inside of the eyelids seemed a sensible choice. Way to go.
Take care all.

10 degrees this morning and, as Stanley Baxter once said "Scummindooninbuckets" .. (for those not conversant with parliamoglasgow, it appears that some scoundrel has inverted a pail of water above us which is now cascading heavily from the skies)

Forecast to stay like this all day too..

I think the summer is finished here with a grey wet start to the day. Managements sister wants to go to North Wales were she was born. We did tell her it won’t be like Queensland and it will be a three hour drive. She spent yesterday wrapped in a blanket so I don’t think she would survive a walk along the prom in Colwyn Bay. cold

Morning Boaby,

Much the same as yesterday, been raining all night and must have been a bit of a wind as the bins have blown over.  Bit warmer this morning but, according to the Met Office it's supposed to cool down later on when the sun comes out ?!?!?!

Have a good day all and enjoy the Lakes Tony..

Morning all, had a surprisingly good run down to the Lakes yesterday and got set up beforevthe heavens opened. Bit bleary eyed today as we hardly got a winks sleep last night. It was extremely wet and the van was getting shaken as we got hit with regular gusts of wind. We're on a pitch fairly high up so I guess that doesn't help. Then again, there's a flood warning for several parts of the Lakes including sites around Keswick. Still hoping for a BBQ later snigger

Take ut easy folks

Poured all day yesterday with wind getting stronger as the day progressed. Rain continued through the night and is checking it down still. The wind during the night was relentless,  not stopping to get its breath back, that's calmed down now.
Got to take wife 4 miles to her weekly line dance club shortly, that'll only take 1 minute longer now at 20mph (according to first minister), we shall see.

Mission accomplished, Wagyu beef kebabs, baked totties and herb and butter baked mushrooms up! Really odd day, the howling wind and rain stopped at lunchtime and the sun came out. Folk were walking about wearing shorts and teeshirts. Pooley Bridge was a bit soggy in bits though, one of the refurbished houses (after the 2015 floods) won't have to worry about watering their garden for a while whilst the Crown Hotel could offer you a riverside table, provided you're happy to eat at the shallow end Whistle1

Rainy night but as least the wind has dropped. Sunshine and showers is the forecast and that's exactly how it looks out. Might go for a wander, or might not biggrin

Take care folks

Sunshine and showers today, certainly feels a little fresher so a jumper may be called for first thing. Looks like the day will be much the same. Waiting for a fitting kit from A/S to put a new microwave in the van, have to say 10/10 to Karen in service and Tom in parts in respect of this.
Have a great day all allthumbz

Been out repointing some areas on brick pillar at top of drive where mortar was cracking, wasn't as bad as it looked with only surface cracks so didn't take much effort with bolster and hammer to clean out, but wanted it fixed before winter. Had to get wrapped up as there is a strong cold wind this morning. Some small branches blown off trees. Saw what I thought was a few leaves on lawn, went to have a look and found it was mushrooms that I am sure weren't there yesterday. Won't be taking a chance and cooking them.

Have a good day

A lovely autumnal day here meaning we managed a nice walk with the air feeling fresh. We had a call from daughter to go her place for the delivery of a hot tub. She is away in Harrogate tonight so it will be ready when they get home tomorrow. They are doing lots little things until their honeymoon Cruise in October.

Rain stopped here in Gaasper for now, only task remaining is to get to Hook for the 1430 ferry, the end of a great (mostly!) trip.
Next rain 1400 at Hook, won't care then!

Safe crossing Ian. Morning all, dry with the threat of showers, off for the early shop then back for more nut sweeping if it stays dry.
Fitting kit for microwave should arrive from AS today so if wet that solves what I will be doing.

Yesterday turned out much better than forecast with plenty of warm sunshine. We did get out and headed for a wander along the footpath beside Ullswater but that was flooded and impassable. The steamer services have been cancelled for several days as the height of the water has made docking unsafe. Today and tomorrow are looking OK with sunshine and showers but one event, planned for Sunday, has been called off due to the forecast wind and rain.
