Re: Weather
22°c at 9am, it will go up but I expect that to drop as the thunderstorms hit later. Should be an eventful trip up to the Lakes.

Re: Weather
Trip up was uneventful and we took a route avoiding the A66, in fact we will always look for alternative routes in future. Started raining when we arrived and got really heavy for a couple of hours with temperatures dropping considerably. Sun is back out and lots of folk are enjoying the evening heat. Good 'ole British weather

Re: Weather
A few spots of rain for a couple of minutes otherwise just hot and sunny, still really warm now. Managed to get the lawns mowed, had enough by the time I had finished. Phone said over 20,000 steps.
Time to start thinking about the upcoming trip to Europe.... or not if the weather stays like this!

Re: Weather
We're in S Wales and it’s been a glorious sunny afternoon but windy. Much nicer than the overcast mugginess at home this morning. We had none of the forecast rain on the way either.
The traffic on the M5 though was horrendous, especially for a Sunday, and I’ve never seen so many motorhomes and caravans on that stretch of road before. Sedgemoor Services was totally manic. What cost of living crisis?

Re: Weather
12 degrees and bright if not sunny. Showers forecast for later on. At least the rain yesterday freshened the place up a bit, not nearly as muggy and humid as it's been.

16° and humid. The rain yesterday did clear the air and temp dropped from 24 to 19 instantly but last night was a most uncomfortable night for sleep . No rain forecast today .

Re: Weather
About half an hour after I posted last night we had thunderstorms. Today it's 14° rising to 19° later, sunny with a chance of a shower this afternoon. Tomorrow looks like rain all day with the chance of some sun

Re: Weather
As we drove back east yesterday it got hotter and stickier. With the house being closed up for a week it was uncomfortable last night.
Even with the fan on in the bedroom we didn’t get much sleep. Maybe we should have kipped in the Rienza on the drive until we aired the house overnight.
No matter it’s tidy up and clean day ready for our next trip were ever it will take us.

Re: Weather
Dry and sunny yet again, 19 degrees, it was raining when I got up at 0430 but looks like that has passed by now. Time to get the scaffolding tower out today to start cleaning soffits and gutters, not sure if it is the same everywhere but it is almost impossible to get odd job people around here and totally impossible to get any that do a good job!
No rain in the forecast so onwards and upwards.... literally.

How come I used to be able to lift scaffold boards above my head and carry two at a time. Now I can barely lift one off the ground. Hoping it will rain soon to stop play.

Another dry day so used it to finish the Snowdonia Slate Trail with hubby supporting in the van again. Not as humid as it was the last few days and a fair bit of sun from Betws y Coed to Bethesda made it a perfect 18 miles - slightly tired Springer now!

14°c and raining, but later it will be 18°c and raining We need to work out what the rules are for offering greetings to those we meet walking in the countryside. We always offer a good morning, good afternoon or even just a hello to others. Most return our greetings but some stare at us as if we're from another planet
That reminds me, I must comb (what's left of) my hair before I go out

Re: Weather
That is something we really notice down here, all the locals will say hello or stop for a chat and to us it was really evident "up country" especially in the South East how grey and miserable people seem to be in general. Supermarkets especially at check out are a prime example.Askit wrote:We need to work out what the rules are for offering greetings to those we meet walking in the countryside. Enough of that, grey and overcast but dry and 19 degrees so up the scaffold tower I go, fun, fun, fun

Re: Weather
Much cooler and overcast today. Typically when we were cleaning the Rienza yesterday it was hot and muggy inside but to make it easier to clean the washroom we opened the window and gave it a good hose down.
Most of time we only use the big plug hole in the front left corner but one of our off grid stops we were parked a bit wonky and needed to use one of the smaller back plug holes. The water wouldn’t go down.
I put the hose directly in the plug hole and after a while there was a sudden surge of water out of the grey tank drain. I have no idea how long that was bunged up or what was in there but I flushed the other drains including the kitchen with the hose.
Before our next outing I will put grey tank cleaner in and let it slosh about en route. This spell of warm weather really shows you need to keep the tank clean. Drain smells at close quarters ain’t nice.

17° in the Lakes, dry morning forecast with rain expected sometime during the afternoon. Guess it will be another typical LD day (like yesterday) with the hills, now you see them, now you don't. Need to get out for a walk now before the wet stuff arrives.

Re: Weather
It started overcast but warm this morning but whilst we were having breakfast on the front at Cleethorpes it became quite muggy. The little black flies were about but it didn’t spoil our breakfast. Because I had a full breakfast and management had a small one I had a choice of free back pudding or fried bread. When our breakfasts arrived we got black pudding and fried bread so we shared the fried bread. A small gesture but nice.
I recommend Oliver’s cafe on the sea front. Nothing too fancy and reasonably priced.
I brought the washing in before tea as it’s starting to drizzle now.
