Re: Weather
Just back from afternoon in Edinburgh, Management and no2 daughter were at Playhouse for professional dance show by some of the Strictly crew. Said I would do driving and wander over to Waverley train station for some train spotting and people watching. Forecast said rain so took suitable clothing, ended up bright sunshine, very warm and carrying jacket. Edinburgh was heaving with people, statio a melee.
Stark reminder that I prefer a NT garden with tearoom, or beach with moho rather than city. Drive home had last 20 miles in thick fog. Time for feet up now till bed time

Re: Weather
Forecast was out here yesterday too, we had some long sunny spells, no rain and up to 17°c. No mistake with todays forecast, 11°c, dull and raining.
Watched a little of the big concert last night, impressive light show but I think Lionel Ritchie should retire gracefully. The Muppets did well as did Kermit and Miss Piggy

Re: Weather
Rain started in early hours and hasn't stopped since. 12° rising to 15 but rain forecast throughout the day. Lots of vans departing today, probably just a handful left. This is our last day here, moving to South Devon tomorrow.

A bright and warm start here but it’s forecast for showers. For the first time in ages Muttly has started asking to go for a mooch round the garden. With this in mind his walk can wait and we can have a lazy start to the day after bacon butties for breakfast.

Re: Weather
Cloudy and overcast with a hint of drizzle followed by a threat of heavy rain later.
Not promising as from 1630hrs to 2200hrs I am on traffic duty as a volunteer at a local outdoor concert, not sure the old previously smashed up legs will hold up that long though.
Have a great day all and enjoy the bank holiday. Take care everyone on the road.

Re: Weather
Wee bit warmer now, 13 degrees but still dank, dismal, dreich, damp and dreary. Raining but not too heavy. SWMBO has given me my orders for today - a run to Lanark, looking forward to it...not.
Took the van for a run to the Kelpies yesterday, place was heaving but second car park (the one with the parking charge) was fairly empty with lots of spaces for the van.

Re: Weather
Still fairly mild but grey today. Management decided to tidy the garden before the bin is emptied tomorrow and just got it full when the rain started.
Not being garden oriented and my back aching I did some tinkering with the step on the Rienza instead. We both achieved our aim so rain or not it’s been a productive day between us. .

Safe travels Paul. Sunny day here and 12°c rising to 17°c later. As Dave said, no rain forecast for today but tomorrow is a different story. Hope your legs held out GH, rather you than me. Coffee day for me, perhaps it should be decaf to stop me getting too excited about Eurovision .
Take it easy folks

Re: Weather
Thanks Tony, the legs held out well. A number of years ago I had a freak accident, heels shattered and several bones in both legs broken, Told I would never walk again. I refused to believe the medics and learned to walk by going up and down the bed with one foot on the ground, then crutches, sticks and a year later, hands free! Today I can walk miles, running is impossible and standing hard for long periods so two and a half hours directing traffic was a challenge. I believe so much is in the mind and determination can overcome so many obstacles.
Not a bad morning, grey skies but mild and dry, a couple of dead trees to attack today, not too big so the reciprocating saw should do the trick. Forecast is rain later.
Hope the weather stays good for you Paul, have a safe journey.
Take care everyone and have a great day

Well done for coming back from that. I've known a couple of guys who had similar injuries, both sustained from missing their footing on long ladders and sliding down rather faster than they wanted. Both were able to walk afterwards but neither regained full movement. Walking is our main form of exercise but 5 or 6 miles is pretty much our limit now (notwithstanding the occasional pain from my bunion joint )
Lovely day as forecast, found out this morning we had a yellow weather warning........for last night

Re: Weather
Yellow weather warning here in South Devon for thunder and its already arrived, rather loud at times, only one flash of lightning so far.
Pretty miserable journey from Somerset to here but far worse were the roads , Somerset much worse than Devon.

Re: Weather
Been showery this afternoon but sunny again at the moment. Good to hear the legs held out GH, I know someone who had a similar injury, slipped off some steps putting stuff in a skip and done both his ankles. Say's he now has a more accurate wet weather forecaster than the Met office or BBC.

Re: Weather
A bright and warm day here but with the threat of rain I walked to the barbers with my waterproof in hand. By the time I walked home it there was still no sign of rain.
I finished cleaning the carpet in the Rienza this afternoon after fitting the new belt to the carpet cleaner. It was warm enough in there to take my jumper off.
It went cold and rumbled with thunder at about four and rained a bit but it was back to warm and dry after ten minits.
