Re: Weather
Dry with light cloud here too but it's still on the cool side. School holidays hereabouts this week so a good time not to go anywhere.
Keep well all.

Re: Weather
Cloudy and damp with a fair wind blowing but still very mild down here. A few jobs to do indoors but an easy day ahead after spending yesterday moving furniture for our upcoming Canadian invasion.
All good fun.
Have a great day all

Re: Weather
Cooler than yesterday, more cloud cover but still little wind. Rain forecast daily after today for foreseeable future.
Off to collect management's mobility scooter after annual service, she had managed to wear the tyres out with using it a lot on gravel and dirt track at NT premises etc
As tyres are moulded to wheels complete change of wheels required at eye watering £100 per corner, cheaper than moho but dearer than our cars
Cheaper than replacing scooter I suppose and proves we are getting good use from it.

Re: Weather
Should get less wheelspin now!
Is bloody expensive though, I imagine the tyres were solid so moulded into the rim. Have seen some scooters with inflatable tyres, but then you have a large potential problem, how does the disabled perhaps unable to walk cope with a puncture?

Yes Ian, tyres are solid and moulded. She has been getting wheel spin which the electrics don't like and motor has cut out a few times recently either going uphill on gravel paths or grass resulting in having to reset electrics, sim0le enough to do but annoying.
We did look at new models when dropping scooter off for service, like for like replacement £2500 ex VAT, price has doubled since bought original five years ago.

Dull and wet here too but, if you belive the forecast, an improving situation. Temperature has risen marginally but it's still on the cool side. Shopping and then out for lunch with friends, what a social life we lead
Keep well folks.

Re: Weather
The run of nice autumnal weather has finished today. It was grey and raining whilst I was sorting breakfast. By the time I got dressed for a wet walk the rain had turned to mist.
Muttly sulks on wet walks but the misty damp grass makes him sneeze a lot but he gets all daft and bouncy.

Re: Weather
Been a lovely warm and sunny day today, not that I managed to see a lot of it.
Have been doing voluntary work for Devon and Cornwall Police for the last six years, today had a seminar with the hierarchy and a gander at some new cars, bikes and camera equipment. Fascinating, "invisible" cameras which have been dummy trialled that if put in to service would be so effective they could never handle the volume of prosecutions, amongst other items. All very well but the regulations and safety requirements surrounding their use are laughable. Time for me to quit though as I can't live with the inefficiency of it all. Never mind, more time to spend on here
Early shop tomorrow, looks like it is going to be a wet one!
Have a great evening all

Re: Weather
Rained finally stopped around 10 p.m, dry enough to get Tag out for a good walk this morning, sea fret/ har rolling in of the North Sea .
Cleared the leaves up from under the car canopy ,the south eastery wind brings them in and dumps the leaves inside, no rake needed GH, used the yard brush.
Have a nice day,

Re: Weather
Unsurprisingly, the forecast for yesterday was wrong and it rained all day and all night. It's dull, grey and damp this morning and I don't expect that to change much over the day.
Most of the leaves we got came from two large trees belonging to neighbours, a large section of one appears to be dead and the other got a major haircut at the start of the year so we have very few lying this year. The gardener is very pleased
Happy Friday

Dreich, Dreich, Dreich
Had thought about a quick weekend away in van but weather not looking good. Think we will use it as a day van tomorrow and go for a drive up Glenshee to Braemar, then take in the autumn colours along Royal Deeside before the leaves all drop. Finish with chippy from The Bay in Stonehaven.

Back from the early shop, tipping it down with rain but still muppets driving around with no lights on. Not much of a day weather wise, taking Lady G to the osteopath just before lunch so better make it a a pasty and bacon slice on the way back, someone has to do it.
Looks like a good plan Bilbo!

Re: Weather
Dried up for a while yesterday but the rain started as it got dark and kept going overnight. This morning it's quite bright but still cloudy and damp. Think we have a few hours before the next weather system brings more rain. At least it's a bit warmer at14°c.
Hope your wife is feeling OK GH, last time I went to the osteopath and he gave me his bill, I said "pull the other one"

Re: Weather
All change hear again today. Its gone back to a bright day with a slight chill in the breeze. Its so tempting to get in and go but we have another week of apointments coming up so we will have a day out by public transport.
I need new walking socks, nothing lasts these days, so we are going into Lincoln by train. It will be nice not having to fight for parking and watching the time.

Liz is fine thanks Tony, when I was out on Thursday she cleared four large dumpy bags of greenery from the garden and put it all in the trailer ready for the tip, she never stops working and overdoing it, so the osteopath gets called in for a tune up quite frequently.
Dry not much wind and a little overcast so out clearing beech and chestnuts from the driveway, a neighbour likes to collect the chestnuts but the beech nuts seem to be unwanted. It will keep me quiet for a few hours anyway.

Re: Weather
It was a lovely autumnal day in Lincoln today once we got there. The chaos started at the ticket desk. It was cash only and the ticket machine outside was off line. Luckily I had time to get cash.
The platform was absolutely rammed full including a scout troop and a large group of teenagers with cans of larger and girls with not much in the way of clothes.
The Manchester train was six coaches and took a few people but the Lincoln train was two coaches. Leaving town I had doubts about it getting to Lincoln. By the time we got off the teenagers were absolutely steaming and the girls were not hiding much.
It was nice sitting on high street in the sun listening to a violin player waiting for the train home.

Re: Weather
Royal Deeside was gorgeous yesterday, I love the transition from Blairgowrie to Braemar as you climb into the mountains over Glenshee. Started out cloudy, by the time we got to Braemar for lunch cloud was starting to break and temperature was 13 degrees and no wind. Only noise in village centre was waterfall. Did see a 17 plate gold Symbol in car park.
After lunch drove North Deeside Road to Crathes Castle. Full sun the whole way an autumn colours were wonderful. Didnt stop at Balmoral but both car parks were rammed, Castle grounds open with free access till end of month. Stopped for coffee at Crathes, temperature now 16 degrees. Then on to Stoney via Asda ain Aberdeen to top up lpg. Watched sun set on prom outside CMC site, five vans looked like they were settling in for night on sea front. Lovely way to spend a Saturday. Repair to EM40 through week worked well.
Misty dreich morning with rain forecast
Enjoy your Sunday
