Re: Weather
Mild and air feels damp, but no rain just now. Gentle breeze. Woken at 5.30 by sound like a diesel engine which we had the other day, louder at front of house but can't track it down, had a good look round inside and out but no joy. Stopped now so will need to wait for recurrence hopefully in daylight. Think I will bleed all the radiators today just in case air in pipes is cause

Re: Weather
Cracking sunrise this morning with an Amber sky. Now, to quote our weather person, it's soggy outside but a bit warmer. Should clear up later but I'm on humphing duties as the gardener wants bulb fibre and potting compost from the big orange shop. When I get back it's a repair to a venetian blind that won't go up or down due to a frayed cord.

Re: Weather
Watch the back Tony, easy to get it wrong with big bags like that.
Just a bit grey down here, 12 degrees so reasonably warm, have to take the boss for an ECG this morning, supposedly nothing to worry about but just to make sure. We are so lucky in the medical service from our local surgery is outstanding, our son in North Devon has been waiting over two years for a scan and has now been forced to give up and decided to pay privately.
Have a great day all

Re: Weather
Mild dry and rather dull here. Some shrub pruning is order of the day, Star Magnolia getting too big is main target of my attack.

Reading quickly thought you said humping, not humphing. First reaction was too much detail.Askit wrote:Cracking sunrise this morning with an Amber sky. Rain hasn't stopped since dawn.
Have a good day if you are humping or humphing ( or doing anything else)

That wouldn't have gone well, especially given the first line of GH's post
Mission(s) accomplished, venetian blinds are remarkably tricky to sort for something relatively simple. Or perhaps that best describes me The gardener diverted to B&M for the soil and bulb fibre (and the other bits and pieces that found their way into the trolley), so it as rather painless.
Sunshine and showers so far with more showers than sunshine.

Re: Weather
1000m of ascent and 15 miles today so very glad of a cool, cloudy start to the day (which we did in the dark). A misty summit which revealed itself when we were 10mins into our descent, Sod’s law, but it gave us a nice, sunny couple of cervesas in a local bar. 20 degrees at 7pm to eat outside the van this evening = happy Welshie gang :-)

Re: Weather
Lovely sunny start in the west with mostly clear skies and just a little cooler. Hopefully it will stay that way for most of today as we expect more rain this evening. No matter, shopping day.

Re: Weather
12 degrees here but mizzle, threatening to brighten later. Told, we too are plant shopping this morning, LIDL have cyclamen so we will probably empty the shelves of those. Better visit the bakery at the same time just to level things up. Stay safe Angleseygirl and enjoy the scenery and sunshine, not at all jealous.

Re: Weather
The autumnal bright but chilly weather seems to have followed us back to our corner of Lincolnshire. Iff it hadn’t been time to pick up medication on Tuesday we would have stayed out longer. We hadn’t planned to be out for more than a few days but we managed eleven nights so we can’t complain.

Re: Weather
After a very pleasant day yesterday, the rain started around teatime and has kept going overnight. Still a bit damp outside but it should become dry for much of today until more rain arrives tonight. Marginally warmer though at 13°c.
Have a good weekend folks and take it easy

Re: Weather
Still pretty mild, back from the 0730 shop, it was damping when we left but stopped now. River was at high tide when we came back, looked really pretty with quite a few birds huddled on what little marshland was left.
An indoor day today, fighting with Cornwall County Council to set up some aires down here, they just don't get it though.

Heavy overnight rain stopped long enough (10mins) to get Tag out for his ablutions at 5 ,pouring down again,so it's back under the duvet for a wee snooze.

Re: Weather
Watched it getting light this morning, so it's dark, dank and raining heavily. Looks like that will be on for the next few hours then sunshine and showers. We are having to part company with an old friend, after 40+ years our vacuum cleaner has bitten the dust (sorry, couldn't resist ). I've lost count of how many times I've repaired over the years, it almost became a hobby. I may almost shed a tear when I take it to the recycling centre..........all that money on araldite

Re: Weather
Same here in the east, was woken at 5 by rain driving into bedroom window (north facing) dry now and hopefully I pro ingredients as daygoes on.
30 years ago we bought a Sebo vacuum from John Lewis in Aberdeen, salesman at the time said it was so powerful using it was like taking a large dog for a walk!
Gets new filters annually, new roller brush about every five years and have had to replace handle/power cable unit. Only thing wrong I haven't been able to fix is clip to hold on nozzle for hose is loose so have to store it elsewhere. Superb quality with spares still available from manufacturer.
