Still and overcast this morning but 12 degrees, first white camelias are showing their faces. Need to change all the bird food today it seems to be going off in no time at all. Christmas trees are coming down from the attic today, just the five, according the boss they have to be aired before being put up!

Stuff that, Christmas trees are a pink job, I just get them down from the attic. Miserable old hog, as far as I am concerned Christmas starts just before the big day and ends on the 27th December.
Light cloud cover this morning, no wind and sun just peeping through, still very mild at 15 degrees.
I am advised we are  off to the shops this morning, come on now, you mean we've bought stuff that the Amazon man is not delivering, what is the World coming too.

Just back in from quick food shop in town, bakers, butchers and Asda. Lovely sunny morning with temperature in double figures. Will get on with outdoor jobs today.

It seemed a lot warmer this morning on our muttly walk compared to yesterday. I had to be out early for our walk yesterday before I got dressed up for my jury service. My best trousers are not warm enough for an east coast cold wind. 
Perhaps we can find a few dry days early next month to get away once this months appointments ,commitments and getting the Rienza wheel arch repaired. Winter walks can be nice once we are wrapped up.

Out before the drizzle started, dry night,mild with some cloud cover.
Good walk out with Tag along the south side towards Wilsthorpe.

Beautiful autumn morning, sunny, dry and little wind. Chilly start but looks promising for another nice day.

Developed cough and felt flu like aches over past day or so, but not enough to slow me down. Covid test negative do good dose of paracetamol, Then onwards and upwards. Covid booster plus flu vaccine booked for Friday pm.

Hope that all clears up soon Bilbo and you are back to firing on all cylinders! Make the most of the good weather up there.
Not so good here, still very mild but Cornish mizzle and overcast skies, not a great day for outdoors though doable.
Plenty of things to do indoors thankfully, have been using facebook marketplace to clear out some of our storage and it is amazing what people will buy, taken in an amount running in to four figures just for stuff languishing in the loft.

Worth thinking about!

Just come in from a little bimble and it is so mild, overcast and dry, couldn't help thinking how beautiful all the trees look now it is fall. Today will be a suck it and see day, anything might happen!

Nice GH, reminds me of the drive along Loch Fyne into Inverary, especially around Campbell castle, the trees are all colours at the moment.

Hereford filet steaks this afternoon,to start the weekend off.( day early)
Sun came out and temperature around 14 degrees ,so out came the Cadac BBQ, properly be the last one till next year, who knows.

Bacon rolls x 2 plus fillet steak, what's for tea? Then there is me having veggie spring rolls, I must be missing something. Been a nice day down here got the car washed now figuring how to remove a set of hardwood patio doors without destroying them. Some clown has nailed them in place...
Good news Lady G just bought me a chunk of Toblerone, life's so bad after all

Heavy rain shower came on just was we were returning from a short walk out.
Switched egg on toast for tea Gh, porridge later for breakfast.

Question is should porridge (pogga) be eaten hot or cold. SWMBO makes it the night before then puts it in the fridge overnight, gets it out about an hour before eating and has it cold with fruit. More of a yoghurt man myself, will take the pogga only if it is hot!

Pretty good start to the day with some sunshine, did the early shop in Sainsbury's and everything was well stocked. Still plenty of geese down by the river, hope they stick around this year, last year they all left!

Isn't cold porridge just wallpaper paste?

When still at school in the 70s I worked as a pot washer in the kitchen of a local high end hotel. Porridge for breakfasts was made by chef once a week, once cold it was kept in the fridge and if porridge was ordered a slice was cut, placed in a small pan, let down with a small amount of water and heated up. This was before microwaves.

My preference is porridge freshly made with skimmed milk, then topped off with a little double cream. Decadent and delicious.


Back to the weather, driech rainy and misty here now.

Dreich here too, Scott's old fashioned porage oats for me. Thick Scottish milled oats, soaked in milk,then in the mic for 4 minutes.

I have my porridge cooked on a stove, a little milk and some blueberries added delicious very warming.

Ah porridge, I'm (nearly) with Boaby on this. Just the 3.5 minutes in the microwave for mine and eaten hot but it will still get eaten cool if I forget it   Guess nobody will be interested in the weather where I am and porridge is not on the breakfast menu 

OOOH we are go on bet its raining!

Little drizzle on a north westerly breeze ,dried up enough for a good walk out with Tag,Blackies started to curp up this morning.
Fried clottie dumping ,square sausage and fried egg on the top, with a wee dod of black pudding, for breakfast later.
Baxters Venison broth for lunch.

Sounds like a nice menu for today Boaby. Good Clootie that has been nicely fried and gone crispy at the edges is a joy.

Another still dry morning here. 

Got Covid booster and flu jab yesterday afternoon. First time at the town hall using the mass vacc clinic. Previous have at GP surgery. Process went well with no real wait. Steady flow of punters.

Flu arm is fine, Covid arm is quite sore when I raise the arm. Could be interesting as playing in first orchestral concert tonight since Covid. Three hour rehearsal this afternoon then concert. Play viola so left arm (Covid) raised for most of the time. Think some preemptive painkillers called for.

No.2 daughter playing snare drum with Unison Kinneil Brass Band  at Murrayfield today for national anthems for Scotland v South Africa
