Re: Weather
Morning all
Weather not so good down here today, showers and overcast but at least it is warm. Back from the early morning shop and couldn't believe how the roads were so busy, left at 0730 and by the time we got back just after 8 traffic was solid and that is before the G7 starts. Much better weather forecast but we will not be heading anywhere outside the village over the bank holiday.
Enjoy the sunshine wherever you are, looks like we are on a knife edge with this Indian covid variant, here is hoping it doesn't lead to more lockdowns.

Changed abit then Sally, town and beach are packed, caravan sites packed,my Dad loved Brid too. I'd love to get back to Argyle & Bute.Sally wrote:I had many happy years as a child on holiday in Bridlington. We stayed on the caravan park (renting) in Sewerby. This was when the snicket down to the cliffs was kept tidy and not overgrown, you could walk into Sewerby Hall for free around the back, and the harbour was old school, undeveloped and with an old man who rowed you across to the south pier.burlingtonboaby wrote:Another wet night at Whitby, dreich low cloud morning, had a couple of rolls and square sausage and decided to return to Bridington
Tags glad to be back home, running nuts in the back garden.
Have a nice day.

We had Maisie for nearly 16 years and she was about the same size as Noel's BT, still have a lump in my throat Tony.Askit wrote:It was lovely and warm here yesterday, I had an appointment on the other side of town and it was odd to see folk wandering about in summer clothes Back to normal today with showers forecast for later but at least it's mild and the picture is an improving one
Boaby, we watched that too and I was wondering how you would be feeling about it. GH, square sausage is not a new phenomenon. Not sure of the origin but it's been about since well before I was born. We used to get a regular butchers order from MacQueens Rothesay, sent by Royal Mail SD, in dry ice, Lorne sausage was included, plus black pudding,Bute beef fillet steak too.
Not had an order for awhile.
Have a nice day.

In those days I couldn’t afford icecreams from a parlour. The van was a treat once a fortnight. But now......Askit wrote:Sally wrote:I used to go camping in Largs many many years ago and I still remember scotch pies topped with baked beans. I worked for Iceland Frozen foods from 1982 until 1997. When I started they sold square sausage frozen like a ready-sliced loaf , about 14/15 slices. It was sold throughout the country, I was in Cheshire and it was quite popular. Cant remember when it was dropped from their range.Askit wrote:GH, square sausage is not a new phenomenon. Looks like my kind of pitch Chris.
Rain overnight but clouds lifting now to a partly blue sky so should be OK for the 400000 visitors allegedly heading here for the Bank Holiday.
It may be a tad busy.
Have a great day all.

Bright start in this neck of the woods, been out already but just to chase the squirrel out of the garden Don't think it will be scorching but it should stay pleasantly dry, tomorrow the forecast is for it to hit 24°c
Take care out there folks and don't forget the suncream!

You be careful up there don't want to read you have been for flying lessons.
Lovely start so walk round the village about a 2 mile circuit, not far but enough to move the bones.
After that some maintenance on the van and the obligatory siesta this afternoon. All work is banned between 2 and 4 in the afternoon
Have a great day

Although it's been very sunny, over the last couple of days we got some very dark clouds bubbling up but thankfully no rain. Another warm start, 18°c right now, with a clear sky and sunshine

Re: Weather
A little more breeze than yesterday but sunny and warm again, looks good for afternoon siesta on the chair beds.
Keeping away from the beaches, complaints are starting already about people parking in stupid places and blocking access for ambulances etc and of course those dreadful motorhomes everywhere that are such a blot on the landscape and dumping waste everywhere.

Another hot day here, 19°c now with 24°c forecast for later. If this keeps up I might have to buy more charcoal (and more beer)
