Re: Weather
After missing out on a lovely day yesterday, with a similar forecast for today I went for a 15 mile bike ride. Overcast and misty and around 12.00 started to get very chilly - still enjoyed being out.

Re: Weather
Rained all day yesterday, right through the night and still raining now. Still dull and cold, the snow has missed us so far but that may change over the next few days. Folk further north have not been so lucky.

Re: Weather
Returned from the weekly shop in the big City (Truro) left in the rain and dark but now some sunny breaks and showery. 7 degrees earlier and improved to 9 now. Good news though, the geese are back on the river, must be about 30 or 40 this morning and a handful of egrets. Pigeons, Jay and a couple of Magpies raiding the bird feeders when we got back. Have a good day and stay safe

Re: Weather
Plenty of blue in the sky again this morning, a few threatening clouds but should be a good day for getting on outside. Very light breeze and 3 degrees so no sign of frost or ice. Couple of jays having a picnic in the garden this morning. Would be great day to wrap out and get out on the water for a sail,,,, except I no longer have a boat

Re: Weather
Thick fog here and hovering around zero degrees. Had to break the ice on the bird baths but a queue of blackbirds waiting for their regular morning bath. A suspicion of sun above the fog however so we might have a sunny day before the threatened snow hits tonight.
River levels still very high and most of our regular walks are impassible with bridges closed as well.

Re: Weather
Bit brighter today but there a biting cold wind blowing, the kind that makes your eyes water. We tried a short walk but it became a minuscule walk instead

Re: Weather
Rain/sleet/snow hasn't stopped in past 48 hours . West end of Forfar Loch is flooded, both paths impassable. With water reaching boundary with A90. Bridge at Southwest end under water east end has flooding on cricket and football pitches, couldn't reach the rugby pitch to check.
Many local roads have reports of being impassible due to flooding, even many areas that aren't usually a problem. Police closed southbound exit from A90 at McDonald's Forfar last night due to flooding.
I think we are about 5 miles from snow line so could be worse as we would be under several inches of snow given volume of precipitation

Re: Weather
Overcast, hardly any wind and 6 degrees in our little valley, was planning to give the van a run out today for a few miles just to turn things over. There is a large car park in Asda about six miles from here so can genuinely say I am going there and getting fuel at the same time.

Re: Weather
It was a bit wild and windy with sleet this morning. Muttly is not very steady on his feet but this morning he couldn’t stand up. He sat on the decking with sleet pilling up on his head. I had to go and rescue him. Not good in you’re dressing gown.
Being February we are away normally for my birthday. Last time it was storm Dennis that battered us in Norfolk. This year it looks like we will be stuck here this year.

Re: Weather
Hasn't stopped snowing since I got up at 6am. Varies between light flurries and whiteout. Ground is so waterlogged don't think we will get much depth of snow lying.
Another day for sitting watching telly.

Flakes for breakfast, snow that is, not corn Just little flurries so it doesn't look like it will come to much. Still very cold with that sharp wind blowing.

Re: Weather
Several centimetres of snow although not excessively cold. Due to the wet surface our road is completely clear despite no traffic. Forecast is for the snow to continue so suspect it will eventually settle as it gets colder overnight.

Re: Weather
We don’t often get snow here unless the weather is from the N/E. Well tonight it’s started. It’s blowing horizontally up our street. Maybe a good time for not going anywhere for a while.

Re: Weather
2 ins of snow overnight on top of what we already had, and more to come in next 24 hours. Off to clear the drive, not that we are going anywhere, just what we have always done in the snow...get in early before it freezes and becomes a major problem.
