Weather

Last night's footprints all covered over as the snow continues, weekly shop postponed. Even if the snow stops the forecast shows no higher than 1 deg all week so what is here is going to be around for some time.

Blue skies and no frost, 2 degrees at the moment but sure it will all change later.
Tree surgeons here today taking down a large ash and a beech so lots of tea and coffee making to do. Ash die back and honey fungus are rife down where we are and we have tree preservation orders to follow so new ones going in after they have gone.

Still no snow here, we've got a clear blue sky and sub zero temperatures. Might get out for a walk (if the boss feels like it )

The lightest skim of snow about 2.30 am but now subliming away in the wind. Mainly grey skies but more and more patches of blue and brief glimpses of sun. Bitterly cold wind and feels worse than the -2.3 deg C registering. 

A good day to see who has not got decent loft insulation.

Big dods of snow flakes coming down now, no walk today Tag, 30 feet under the canopy will have to do.

Spoke too soon, in the blink of an eye the sky turned dark grey and we now have heavy snow falling

No snow here, suns out but temp only 1° 'feels like-3'.

Workmen shouldn't  be accepting drinks from customers,  around here most are now bringing their own. Seems to be standard practice  here.

Sun shining here now and the wind has dropped. Still a thin layer of icy snow and, looking at the few people going past, bitterly cold and quite slippery.

We've had 3 lots of workmen lately; slab layers, tree fellers and greenhouse erectors. They would not accept hot or cold drinks- for which I felt quite grateful but felt I should ask anyway.

Same here: two builders are on a scaffold at the moment, removing a chimney. Bitterly cold, but they decline any hot (or other) drinks. Very tricky as have to avoid anything flying off as they drill out, brick by brick, to avoid solar panels and Veluxes. 
Stressful indoors to hear the banging and trying not to think about masonry missiles!

Have had white out snow showers for most of the day. Now over 6inches and can't see where I cleared the drive this morning

Been snowing off and on since early morning, cleared a pathway at lunchtime,now covered again. Cold and windy.

We’ve had continuous light snow for the last 3 hours. Not a flake of it has settled and the very light covering from during the night has gone completely. There’s also been bright sunshine most of the afternoon. Very odd.  Still bitterly cold with temperatures not getting about 0.5 deg.

Slush has frozen solid,footpaths are impossible to walk on, minus 2 here now,wind has died down.

The tree pictured above is now down to just the main stem, it has been a great day today but snow and gale force winds on the way. Hope they are still able to get it finished tomorrow

I intended to put up a picture of a tree nearby, but it was white, the same colour as the sky and the ground, and houses come to that...

Heavy cloud with a few spots of sleety rain, very windy making it feel colder than it is. No frost or snow so far though things are not looking too promising! Have a good day and stay warm.

Victor Syvester weather here (for those too young or watching in black &white), snow, snow, quick quick, snow. About 3ins here too but still falling. No matter, the guy at the BBC (when they gave a weather warning at the weekend) dismissed Scotland getting foul weather as apparently "we're more used to it""

We are also outside the amber warning area, despite that it snowed for most of the night. Now have 8 inches of lying snow on the lawn. Ploughs are struggling to keep main roads open , aggravated by lockdown meaning less traffic to grind salt into the snow making gritting less effective.

Secondary roads abandoned for the duration. Well rehearsed situation but still an added inconvenience.

Calm, dry and sunny here with bright blue sky but temperature hovering around freezing. No trace of the weekend's snow. Tomorrow forecast to be even sunnier.  Clearly very cold in the night as I couldn't even make a dent in the bird baths first thing. A few blackbirds eyeing the substitute washing up bowl of water with deep suspicion but that's the best I can do for now.

About 4 ins of snow in the back garden ,temperature up at zero.
Remember back in the 80's when we were snowed in for 4 days in Saline ,north of Dunfermline.
