12v system on 03 Topaz
Hi there fellow Campervanners, I have a 2003 AS Topaz, new to me. Please could anyone tell me why the 12 volt system works intermittently. When I went out the other day the 12v system wouldn’t work the water pump and toilet flush. Both work fine on the mains hook up. Totally bemused!

Hi.
Two possibilities spring to mind:
1) Did you have the ignition switched on ? - this disables the leisure 12V system.
2) Is the leisure battery working at all, or do you only get 12V when it is supplied from mains hook up ?

Re: 12v system on 03 Topaz
Thank you Sir,
1) Ignition off
2) Only the water pump, toilet flush and occasionally interior lights don’t work on 12v. Fridge ignition and hob ignition work okay so I assume there is something in the 12v system.

Re: 12v system on 03 Topaz
I've just remembered having an issue with ours, which I resolved by pulling out and re-inserting the split charge relay (and other associated relays and fuses) to clean up the connections.
These are in the engine compartment on the bulkhead near the battery on ours.

It’s gone back to the dealer under warranty. Will update as soon as I hear anything. Thank you.

Hi there, it turned out to be a power problem. No power was going from the battery to the pump. Needed rewriting. All done on the warranty and fully operational now.
