Warwick xl 2017
Hello everyone, I’ve just bought my first camper van a 2017 Warwick Xl, collect in March. Can anybody clarify 2 points for me. The van does not have sat nav, confirmed by salesman. However does have solar panel, cruise control etc, and other additions on premium pack. Thought sat nav was included in that pack, is this my mistake...also dealer will feel gas tank for me, I’d like any advice of how easy it is to find garages that sell LPG and have you had any issues refilling.. thanks.

For lpg garages use FillLPG app (android only) or website. Several videos on YouTube to show how to fill tank.

Re: Warwick xl 2017
Gritto I have just bought a 2017 Warwick XL only 2 weeks ago . It came with an Avtex sat nav and a bc30 reversing camera mounted above rear brake light . I was led to believe this was the system used to replace the earlier reversing camera monitor that used to be attached to the rear view mirror. Does your van have a camera mounted above the back doors?
Just checked and if you read the test done by what motorhome on this link it clearly states Garmin /avtex sat nav/rev. camera now replaces previous mirror mounted system see https://orbit.brightbox.com/v1/acc-jqzwj/Marquis-Leisure/reviews/pdfs/000/000/867/original/WarwickXLwhatmotorhome.pdf?2017

Re: Warwick xl 2017
Kaspian. Thanks for the link, the van I have bought is a April 2017 registered van however doesn’t completely conform to the information contained within the article. My van does have reversing camera above rear doors however is a 150 bhp model, not 160. As previous stated, no sat nav either despite that appearing to be standard with premium pack. It does have solar panel, cruise control etc. Is this similar to yours..

Re: Warwick xl 2017
If it’s the Avtex (Garmin) with BC30 that was fitted from new it sounds like a previous owner may have kept the main unit??

Here’s the 2017 AS Peugeot van conversion brochure. According to this, included within the Premium pack which you have fitted. Is the Colour reversing camera and Garmin Sat Nav.

Maybe it’s a 2016 model not registered until 2017? Hence the difference in bhp.

Yes you need to check details when purchasing, our van which we purchased new and 1st reg Jan 2016 was made in Jan 2015. Dolphin Motorhomes did draw our attention to this as they are a good dealer, we did get £5k discount.
I have purchased a Garmin 7" sat nav and find it very good, far better than the fixed Ford one in the latest Fiesta, the Garmin beeps at me when I drive too fast and you get free updates for life.

Re: Warwick xl 2017
Lucky you , sounds like you have landed the earlier 2.2 Ford engine which is better to drive from my recent experience with noticeably more low down grunt traded off for a little more noise! Is your camera at the rear a moulded plastic blob fitted flush with the paint or a small blob fitted to a thin metal bracket proud of the van for want of better words! If the first then that points to a Veba with monitor fitted over the rear view mirror , if the latter then this conforms to our van in which the sat nav monitor is missing. ps our dealer knew nothing about it when asked but the sat nav turned up in a box in the wardrobe! Also the bc30 camera is bluetooth and possibly may pair with a smartphone as an alternative means of viewing picture.

Re: Warwick xl 2017
I should add that I was less than impressed with the avtex /garmin on first use on leaving the dealership as although appearing to be properly set up with size of van etc it tried to send us down a narrow lane in Yorkshire which had large signs stating no caravans/motorhomes/large vehicles as road too narrow. Our humble tomtom start25 correctly said carry on the main road ....

Although it has the camera, does it have a screen to view it?
I think all the 2017 models (like mine) usually came with a Bluetooth camera which viewed through the satnav automatically when you put it in reverse.
From the sounds of it the original owner has kept the satnav for themselves and left you without it.
I'd definitely go back to the dealer because if this is the case you have don't have a functioning reversing camera and are missing an included item if the original van. At the very least I'd expect to get a replacement or at least some money off to.compensate.

Spoke to salesman at Simpsons at Great Yarmouth about this issue. He really cannot offer me a explanation and they supplied the vehicle. It has a screen to view and I used it for reversing on my test drive. I think mine was built in 2016 and registered in April 2017 so perhaps it may have something to do with when it was built. Oh well onwards and upwards.

Re: Warwick xl 2017
So are you saying there was a screen (which you used for reversing) at the point of the test drive but have since realised this screen is missing after purchase?
To clarify the type of system, do you remember if the screen was attached to the actual reversing mirror or was stuck to the windscreen with a suction mount?

Definitely on the reversing mirror, in colour with good quality pictures.

I think you have the answer there.
The 2017 brochure states that the premium pack includes “Colour reversing camera and Garmin Sat Nav. “
However, the 2016 brochure states that the premium pack includes a “Colour reversing camera “.

Re: Warwick xl 2017
As Milvus says, it sounds like you have the 2016 system (without sat nav) fitted. To be honest that setup would be my preferred choice, I find the Garmin unit fitted in 2017+ vans a right faff!
For info this was the kit provided with my 2018 which uses the BC30 wireless camera, 2019+ vans seem to have changed again to a screen built into the head unit.

Re: Warwick xl 2017
On your question re lpg there are a few sites worth looking at for UK outlets eg
https://autogaslimited.co.uk/interactive-map
It is worth noting that Shell have removed lpg from its garages.
On the plus side if you tour in Europe it is widely available, but each country has different fittings. You can by a set of adapters which cover most of the European countries. LPG is much more economical than refilling cylinders, a tank frees up space inside you van where cylinders would be stored, and it can be topped up whenever it is convenient, like your diesel tank, rather than emptying a cylinder and having to change fittings before buying a replacement.
Hope that helps, enjoy the new van.

Not entirely yet, but they are phasing it out.
My local Shell is still supplying Autogas fortunately, but I'm not looking forward to the 10 mile drive to the next nearest once it goes

Roger that Greyhound. It has gone from my local Shell sites Newcastle and Durham, and I read they were taking it out so I put 2&2 together and thought it had gone altogether. Sorry about that.
Its a shame they have done that because for us campers it has a lot of positives

Re: Warwick xl 2017
The Autogas link above gives me 3 stations within 25 miles of home, filllpg gives me 15.
Autogas is (was) a joint venture between Shell and Calor, it really annoys me that both Shell and Calor are withdrawing pumps from their petrol stations and depots but luckily there are still over 1000 places throughout UK to fill up. Morrisons supermarkets have many filling stations with lpg and you can download a list of those but they are all shown on filllpg app or website.
