Veba AV70mm Reversing camera
Hi All
we have recently purchased a 2015 AS Nuevo EK fitted with a Veba reversing camera..the camera works fine but the audible beep has stopped working. Any ideas please? Sorry new to motorhoming having been a mere campervanner for 24 years so upgrading to a vehicle with all the bells and whistles is a challenge!
Regards
Martin

The usual beep which increases in frequency the closer you reverse to an object when too close a continuous one. There are no bumper style sensors evident so assume it is activated purely by the camera!

Not a normal feature of a Veba Reversing camera setup.

Have you actually had this "beep" working?
I have the same Veba system fitted to a Warwick Duo and there has never been any sort of aural indication in nearly 5 years of use. The instruction leaflet for the camera makes no mention of any kind of sound at all.

I've got those beeps, but I do have bumper mounted sensors.Forest Claret wrote:The usual beep which increases in frequency the closer you reverse to an object when too close a continuous one. There are no bumper style sensors evident so assume it is activated purely by the camera!

It sounds very much to me that you have them too, even if you can't find them and/or they no longer work. The camera certainly doesn't act as a reversing sensor.
Curious???

Re: Veba AV70mm Reversing camera
Today I have cleaned the rear view camera lens and the audible beep has partially returned. The beep eminates from the rear of the vehicle is kitchen area but cannot locate a speaker. Also have played with the remote control and in the menu is a volume option set at 35 of 40(max). Any more comments please.

Re: Veba AV70mm Reversing camera
The Veba kit installed by AS does not include any audible warning as standard The monitor does have an audio input so could take a signal from sensors if fitted, but then the beep would come from the monitor. The power supply and audio/video interface board is located either in the cab headlining, behind the dash or under door step well trim so again, if it made a noise it would be in the front, not the back.
As you are hearing a beep, I can only think that some independent system is fitted. Get a torch and look under the back bumper of the van for some wiring that looks different to the rest.

Are you sure the BEEP was from the Veba?
Sorry if you are aware of this already, but a beep from the kitchen area when you start the van is probably nothing to do with the reversing camera.
We've had beeps from the step when I've forgotten to close it before starting the engine. When you start to move it will close automatically but warns you that it has done so by beeping at you, but it doesn't do that until you are moving. If your first action in starting the van is to reverse away from where you are parked, you may well think it is a reversing camera function.
Other options I've had are the fridge beeping, probably because we had left the door slightly open.
The other beep I've been really grateful for, on two occasions, is the one that keeps going to warn that the power cable is still attached and powered on! I did once manage to detach the power cable (from another van) by driving away from it but the only warning that time was a flash and a bang!

Re: Veba AV70mm Reversing camera
Thanks for the advice but definitely an audible beep as I reversed towards a wall getting quicker as I got closer then to a constant when I was too close with the wife outside as a safety check.

Sounds as if a previous owner has fitted reversing sensors and is nothing to do with the reversing camera.
