Re: Weather
I'm usually up before the birds Andy, listening to them singing when walking Tag , the foxes are up and about too.steamdrivenandy wrote:Quiet and light cloud here.
You get woken by birds Boab.As it's Friday we get woken by bin men. We're the start of their Friday route, often before 7am. I've always wondered what time they have to be at the depot, to start collecting before 7am and why so early anyway?
Some coastal showers expected later, clouding up now.

At last the wind has dropped down here near Falmouth, have about twenty fence panels to replace, can hopefully get some done before it starts to rain this afternoon.

I hope you don't get orange ones as replacements. Never understood why suppliers due them such a nasty colour and then say they look like cedar. I mean ceda wood does have a slight orange tint when new but soon fades to brown/grey which is an ideal plant background. Orange is anything but. Uncoloured allows the natural look which plants look best against.

Lovely day here, it's still on the cool side but the sun is out and it's dry. Even got a washing hung out, simple pleasures eh

Re: Weather
Beautiful calm sunny day and perfect blue skies here in the East Neuk.
Have mown the lawn wearing just a T shirt* and Mrs B has hung a washing out.
Now started de-rusting the gas BBQ ready for its first firing up of the year.
* and trousers etc, before any daft comments get posted!

It keeps hammering it down here today, just when you think it's stopped and brightening up, down it comes again.

However now the sun has gone lower, so has the temperature.
But at least it's still dry. As is the washing.

No get them straight from the sawmill, pressure treated, not made of cigarette paper like the orange superstore ones! Managed to get a few up before it started throwing it down with rain again.steamdrivenandy wrote:I hope you don't get orange ones as replacements. Re: Weather
Sunny, dry and light breeze in South West Cornwall this morning, back to the fence erection, next week looking good so I feel many days of pressure washing coming on then eventually the van will get a major Spring makeover and wax!!
Will still have to find time for a few walks on the beach as well though!

Re: Weather
Just poked my nose outside to get the mail. Cloudy but bright, feels and smells like Spring.
Yesterday we discovered that a Mavis has built a nest in the hedge not far from our dining room window, so let's hope for some eggs and baby thrushes in a few weeks.

I'm sometimes up at around 6.30, but these days it's usually an hour later. Mrs Boaby must have cold feet.

Re: Weather
We've got a weird bedtime routine at present.
Our old boy beardie started finding it difficult to climb up stairs. When he got up there he'd spend hours walking about in the dark and we were afraid he'd fall down stairs by mistake.
So one of us stays downstairs and sleeps in the sofa bed with the dog sleeping nearby in the lounge and the other goes upstairs to bed as normal. As I use a CPAP machine that takes a bit of setting up, it's usually Chris who stays downstairs. The younger beardie girl sleeps upstairs by me.
It means a lot of messing about to set up and take down the sofa bed but the old boy seems happier not having to try to get upstairs.
How long we can carry this on for is anybody's guess.
Oh! and bedsocks remind me of an episode of 'As Time Goes By' currently on Drama, when Lionel complains about the roasting temperature of Jean's hot water bottle and she tells him it's fine in her bedsocks.

Re: Weather
Later this morning, longer walk as its milder, dry with little wind.
Hope your old lad stays healthy Andy, its worth the effort we put in to keep them happy,
I stayed up with Maisie (old BT) during her ageing years.
