Hi Paul, we've found Nantwich to be one of the coldest places we've been to!
However, one place which is warm and cozy there is the cafe at the back of A.T.Welch delicatessen.
Don't know if you've ever been in it, but it's more like a museum of household and grocery items from when you were a lad. Just a thought to warm your bones.

Thanks NB, will be walking I to the town today unless the wind blows us over, it's stronger than during Storm Brendan. I'll look for the cafe.

Before  the Rienza is taken off the road next month we are going to Saltburn  for a couple of nights. The weather looks liveable next week. We may stay out a bit longer maybe pub stop or Helmsley depending on how we feel. This month seems to have been  grey and cold for a long time after our seven weeks of unbearable heat in Ausy. cold

We found the cafe , had lunch there. It certainly is one of those 'I remember those' places. Thanks for the tip, wouldn't have known it was there otherwise.

First a reply to 'Neuvoboy' if you think Nantwich is cold you should try our back bedroom!!

And to Micky glad your having a nice time, yeah! really cheers me up, yeah sitting here for the last 8 weeks recovering from my hip replacement, can't drive, can't put my own socks on, can't go shopping (yes OK it's not all bad news!) can't play the piano, sorry that one is just lack of skill, nothing to do with the op!!

Anyway got that off me chest

Happy New Year all

Hi Paul, hope you had a decent lunch.
And if nothing else it was surely nice for a bit of nostalgia.

Heavy frost here this morning (quite unusual so close to the coast) and forecast dry for the coming week.
Should have a decent but cold time in Cardiff then?

Heavy snow and -10 on Vancouver Island today ( Mount Benson area), about a foot fell last night. The ATV and snow plough are going to be useful.
Sure hope Harry brings his boots when he comes over next week!Weather - Page 10 82318810

Snow is always look nice from inside we’re it’s cosy and warm working in it is a different matter.
I worked on the Baltic at Kiel in Germany many years ago. The night of my birthday ,16th  of February ,it was minus 30 in the wind. Some muppet that organised our accommodation found us a nice hut to sleep in. Even with two sleeping bags each we didn’t get much sleep.
Later working at the roadside tying up an exhaust on the A180 my ground sheet was frozen to the concrete. Walking back to the van was a skating challenge. Nutters were flying past me at motorway speed so I drove home along the back roads.
I have got to the time of life were cold frosty days are nice to look at from the comfort of a nice cosy motorhome.

Reminds me of the snow drifts on the A9 at Calvine ,waiting for the ploughs to come down the pass. GH
Haw frost this morning, but dry, little breezy. Otherwise nice for January.

Trouble is, round here the pavements and roads are still damp and our dog walking routes were slippy in places where the low sun couldn't warm them, even at 11am.
