...................Dear Mr N....n
Thanks you for your recent email submitted via our website and for choosing our Fairford as your new Motorhome.
"We are somewhat puzzled by the tag you mention on your friends key to be honest as the Boxer Motorhome chassis doesn't have deadlocks for safety reasons, which means if you lock the doors using the key fob you can still open all the doors from the inside without needing to use the key fob first.
I have also been to inspect some new Peugeot chassis cabs and vans on site and none of these have arrived with any red warning tags. Did your friend/s buy his Motorhome with a different security device installed - for example; Outsmart the Thief promotes a Lockdown feature on their system which may be creating a deadlock effect when activated??
Kind regards
Dave

I think Mr. Williams is incorrect.
My Fairford came with the red warning tags and does have a deadlock system.
I do not have any Peugeot/AS alarm system but have a Strikeback system installed.

Are any of these vans on a Fiat instead of Peugeot, the Fiat being supplied for Auto boxes.

I have seen the email in question and can confirm Dave Williams from A/S thanks Mr N***** for choosing to buy a new Fairford then he admits to being puzzled by the tag "We’re somewhat puzzled by the tag you mention on your friends keys to be honest as the Boxer Motorhome chassis doesn’t have deadlocks for safety reasons, which means if you lock the doors using the key fob you can still open all of the doors from inside without needing to use the key fob first."
This is not the case with my Fairford as I have a deadlock fitted!

Re: Warwick Duo - lock rear door from inside
After seeing the post from Don about my previous email response from Dave Williams, and the fact, that I and other owners of new PVC's had no red tag with a panic warning I decided to write to Dave Williams again. This time a very kind member has showed me how to drop Dave Williams reply email into the post box window. I have spent quite a bit of time trying to get to the bottom of the red tag panic warning for the good of everyone and think that I now have the answer that we all wanted. I was also pleased to see that Don had removed the insinuating and insulting remarks he had made about my previous email and the fact that I could have only written what I wanted everyone to see. And this after I had tried to help him.
This second email from DW also explains about the red tags or lack of them ie some have them others don't.
I have also since contacted my supplying dealer and they have told me that they remove the tags from the keys because the tags were causing to much confusion with some new owners about the locking system on the vans.

Mindhyg,
Thanks for persisting with that, it is good to know that our vans can be safely locked from the inside with the fob.
It's a little disconcerting that Mr Williams gave you the wrong information initially, which shows a lack of knowledge of the products under his control, but it is refreshing to see that he has openly admitted learning something new.
Many managers I've worked under in the past would blame anyone but themselves for such a failing, even something so relatively minor.

Re: Warwick Duo - lock rear door from inside
Hi all this is my first post having only just joined the forum. I took delivery on Sunday 24/09/2017 of my new Warwick XL. And it's very nice too. As a newbie I was browsing the posts, as you do, when I came across this one which has been very helpful too me. Until I read the email explanation from Auto - Sleeper, and thanks to the member that took time to contact them, I was concerned that I did not have any red warning tags on my new keys and also was I locking it properly. This topic has helped to put my mind at ease after I contacted my supplying dealer SMC to find out why I had no warning tag. They told me that they remove the red key ring tag before delivery to save any undue conflict or confusion with the Peugeot Vehicle Handbook. They said that they have had queries from owners in the past so they remove them because not they are not needed.
Anyway I now look forward to enjoying my new van with at least one thing cleared up and peace of mind.

Welcome to the forum Simmo
But be careful to not dead lock the van when your in it.
That was my concern, I was unaware of the dead lock function when I got the van.
I think it is important to be aware of how these vans deadlock. If dealer removes the warning then they should explain deadlocking to the customer.
Did SMC tell you about the deadlocking during the handover?
