Re: Auto-Sleeper Warwick Duo Modifications 2017+
Certainly no argument - the roads are getting worse. However having run van tyres as supplied new for over nine years (old but not worn out) I have recently had Michelin Agilis Camping (225) tyres fitted and the transformation is remarkable.I understand that these tyres were designed specifically for camper vans which generally run much closer to their maximum load than the average goods van at all times. It has two casing plies and is designed to run at 80psi rear, reduced to 65psi front if desired for comfort. The sidewalls are not visibly softer at rest but I guess they must be more compliant on the road. Not only is the ride comfort transformed the road noise is significantly reduced almost to saloon car levels in my opinion. I can't comment on durability but expect to sacrifice something for the performance improvement.

Re: Auto-Sleeper Warwick Duo Modifications 2017+
Most owners with Agilis Campers at 80psi complain about the harsh and bouncy rear end and reduce the pressure to lower level even if agai Michelin advice. I certainly was one of them, it was enough to shake your fillings out and the reason I swopped to van tyres, ride now only marginally better but bank account £200 better off.

Re: Auto-Sleeper Warwick Duo Modifications 2017+
Yes, I quoted the Michelin recommendation. I personally run closer to 65psi all round. I find adjusting the AL-KO air bag pressures has more effect on rear end bounciness. As a man accustomed to buying decent quality at no more than middling price the cost of the Michelins did make me think once, twice and thrice but I am pleased I spent the money. On a personal note I am extremely hard of hearing and paradoxically a reduction in background noise (road noise) is of huge benefit to me at almost any cost. On the occasions I listen to my wife I sometimes now know exactly what she said and by how much I am over the maritally approved speed limit...

I don't have air bags. They weren't original spec back in 2010.

I run AL-KO at 2.2 Bar. I do like to travel heavy though. I am at my happiest with an empty toilet, an empty grey waste tank and full cupboards, full fridge, full freezer, full fuel, gas and water tanks. Perfect as far as I'm concerned. We can go absolutely wherever we want for three days before we need anything from anybody. Heaven.

Although registered Jan 2010, it was built july 2009 by Peugeot and probably converted late 2009.

Like us with the packing, only we can usually only make the water last a day, showers and washing up, not drinking same as toilet, empty each morning. Thanks for the 2.2 bar info, same with me. Duo runs better fully loaded, even better on French roads , like flying!postman wrote:I run AL-KO at 2.2 Bar. I do like to travel heavy though. Well, new head unit on order.
Huawei E5577, Portable Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspot has arrived . I have roaming on my phone contract but this allows the receiver to be outside the van .
We purchased two Three Mobile Pay As You Go Mobile Broadband 12 GB data SIM's. These last 12 months but not worth getting larger amounts as they limit roaming to 12gb.
Road toll tag has arrived from Norway, also we joined and prepaid 3000 Kr to the ferry company this allows 50% off the ferry prices in conjunction with the road tolls.
Joined the New Zealand Motor Caravan Association Inc (NZMCA) this is allowed if you are members of the caravan and motorhome club UK. This then saved us £250 on the ferry from wellington booking so well worth it.
Anyone else been to Scandinavia lately?

Best thing in the van except me!!!
Re Scandinavia, yes to my beloved Denmark 3 yrs ago, via HofH thro Holland and Germany to Denmark, across Denmark to Copenhagen.
If they re opened the Newcastle/Bergen ferry I'd only ever go to Scandinavia

11.6 inch 1080p android head unit by joying [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Taken a while to set up though, did not help that the default language was in German! Added the dab module from the old radio.
One thing this does well is wireless android auto something the old one did not. Having spare usb ports has allowed me to run one into the top glove box.

Re: Auto-Sleeper Warwick Duo Modifications 2017+
Just completed a 3 month trip around Scandinavia and Hetty has done us proud, we did find one of the electric heating elements failed so randomly no electric heat at all. We could have used just gas but I don't like things not working.
So we asked mark caravan medic to replace both elements, they did not come out easily due to corrosion but it took just over 2 hours to do. Parts, labour and a check of the all of gas system came to £400.

Re: Auto-Sleeper Warwick Duo Modifications 2017+
That is a remarkably good price for replacing the Truma elements, particularly with them having to remove the bunk. Not quite as awkward as on the Nuevo however where half the wardrobe front has to be removed and access is s restricted . At Truma I reckon you'd have paid around £600 and it could be a couple of hundred more than that because the elements alone are not available so the whole heat exchanger has to be replaced! 🤬🤬

Truma wanted ME to remove the surrounding furniture! I don't know if AEG who did mine removed the bed but I doubt it and it cost £700.
