Re: Auto-Sleeper Warwick Duo Modifications 2017+
No you have to buy the different version, it will not be a problem as we never need to open the rear doors while parked on a street. It is more to open the rear while camped. Such as getting the BBQ out . We mostly camp over the channel anyway.

Ah, Ok - they have a Uk-specific version? I wasn't able to find any photos of one the other way round, but I guess in relative terms it's a small part of their market.

By coincidence, I've got a Thule 928. It's a really nicely made bit of kit too!
Not sure if it's exactly the same model - the one I have tilts, though I did need to modify the tilt mechanism a bit so that it will clear the tailgate on my van.

Yes this does tilt but will not clear our doors hence the van swing.

Re: Auto-Sleeper Warwick Duo Modifications 2017+
I solved the problem by lengthening the cables that stop the bikes hitting the ground. It's just about acceptable as a solution, but I have to admit to being a bit careful every time I lower it, as the strain on the cables is now quite high!
I could (and probably should) re-engineer it, altering the cable fixing points to reduce the leverage, but as long as I'm careful it should be Ok. With electric bikes I probably wouldn't get away without reworking it...

Re: Auto-Sleeper Warwick Duo Modifications 2017+
Fitted the vanswing
tried the thule out but the electrics did not work without an adapter purchased a 7 to 13 one from amazon, work straight into the van but not via the van swing . Out with the multimeter nothing on any of the pins... Removed the cable and found this !
Easy fix the back of the plug allowed the internals to rotate so it could have been me.

Re: Auto-Sleeper Warwick Duo Modifications 2017+
This may be a silly question, but if I want to use Velcro to fasten the end bed panel to the frame, what’s the best way of attaching the Velcro to the wood?
Thanks

The tape on the back of the velcro is strong enough if you use the proper stuff.

Fridge fan update as it may get hot sometime.

May I ask, how do you remove the vents, not grills Paul, as mine seem to be coming off, not that I have any need for fitting a fan, just getting them to stay on.
Thank you.

There's a frame surrounding the hole. Then if you look at this image, you'll see half way up on the left there is a slide (very tight usually) push upwards to lock into place.rgermain wrote:May I ask, how do you remove the vents, not grills Paul, as mine seem to be coming off, not that I have any need for fitting a fan, just getting them to stay on.

Thanks I will take a look, mine seem to be coming off. I thought they were held with mastic or glued on.

Your van is younger than mine, it may have a Thetford fridge and not a Dometic. Unfortunately I don't know how Thetford vents are held in, if that's what you have.rgermain wrote:Thanks I will take a look, mine seem to be coming off. I thought they were held with mastic or glued on.

No I have a Dometic fridge, I have just had to purchase a new door shelf for it.Paulmold wrote:Your van is younger than mine, it may have a Thetford fridge and not a Dometic. jennyandpeter wrote:We were at the Peterborough show at the weekend and got a few ideas, the new Warwick duo has removable end panels under the bench seats, but only from the inside so defeating the object. I think it is done as a way of fitting a wooden panel to the metal frame rather than a usable option.
Removed the draw as it does not use a 1/4 of the available area, removed end panel and fixed with velcro.

Now large area available for chairs and ramps accessible from the outside

I will refit draw front with piano hinge as on the other side.
Next thing see how much the new light fittings on the warwick are as it will not be hit by the toilet door.
For a bit of fun I thought I would remove the end panel on the passenger side, to make it easy to load my chair in and out from outside the van.
After an hour I was completely flummoxed! I had removed the visible screws, but the panel simply would not move. If you were looking from the outside, then the top right hand corner of the panel was still rock solid. Yet looking inside there were no more screws to remove.
It beat me

Did you take the upholstered panel behind the seat off? It gives access to the area on the right.

Re: Auto-Sleeper Warwick Duo Modifications 2017+
Hi - I didn’t get that far . It was the top corner nearest the middle of the van, on the passenger side. I removed all the top screws, after which I could see that the top had loosened. Apart from the internal top corner which was still fastened really securely. But I could not see a screw for the life of me. Or any type of fastening to be honest.jennyandpeter wrote:Did you take the upholstered panel behind the seat off? It gives access to the area on the right.
It was very strange, because something somewhere was locking it on place, but I couldn’t see, feel or find anything.

Re: Auto-Sleeper Warwick Duo Modifications 2017+
Side Door Stop. I fitted a Stopsy side door stop in a Kemerton XL a while back and it worked well. Fitting was easy - just stuck on with supplied mastic. In my current van I've gone back to basics - a champagne cork on a tell tale that fits into one of the holes in the body under the side door.

Few dabs of superglue on the adhesive of the velcro helps a lot too.Sally wrote:Thanks.Jennyandpeter wrote:The tape on the back of the velcro is strong enough if you use the proper stuff.
