More Kingham Questions
Hi again and apologies for having more questions.
Are there any upgrades or modifications planned for the Kingham for next year.
In its current guise, does the van come with a spare wheel or does it have the repair/inflator. If the latter, can a full spare under slung cradle be fitted, or would a spare have to be carried on board.
Is there an optional insect screen available for the side door, or if not are there aftermarket possibilities.
What extra weight capacity is gained on upgrading/replating.
Thanks,
W.

Re: More Kingham Questions
Hi, we have a Warwick Duo which has an underslung full size steel spare that can be inflated or pressure checked via a valve mounted under the rear bumper on the offside.
The only upgrade I am aware of is interior trim, I believe AS do not offer an insect screen but there are some after market ones available but not sure of their suitability.
Don't know if you can replate weight.
regards

Re: More Kingham Questions
Thank thanks both, good to know that there's a full spare.
When I first started browsing the site I'm certain I read that an owner had replated for a extra payload, but can't remember if it included figures and I can't find it now.

Re: More Kingham Questions
Just an update on replating for extra payload, based on my simplistic maths.
As standard, the Kingham has a MIRO of 3148kg and MTPLM of 3500 kg, giving a user payload of 352kg (Auto Sleeper figures).
Another forum member has very kindly advised me that they had their Kingham replated to an MTPLM of 4250kg, giving a very respectful user payload of 1102kg.
I'm aware this may have implications for some older drivers in respect of their licences, but it's certainly something I will be considering.

Re: More Kingham Questions
Not just older drivers, these youngsters or late developers can't drive it either. Don't forget to tell the Insurance co.
