Peugeot Symphony P reg
Hopefully purchasing above in next 2 days. Previous request for advice on a petrol Peugeot Boxer Symphony has been invaluable, but I've opted for the disel. 58,000 miles. Just fishing for views of owners of similar vehicle before I sign on the dotted line.

when they get to that age have a good look underneath and along the sills. Once they start to rot you can end up with some hefty bills for welding.
Go along the bottom sills and give them a good tap, if you go straight through and cause a hole you've got problems.

Hi,
make sure you take it for a good drive which involves traffic, and hills so that you can put the gearbox through it,s paces as they are
prone to 2nd syncro problems, please see previous threads on gearboxes.
I would also suggest that if you purchase the camper that you check to see if the scuttle pipe modification has been done and if not fit
one total about £20 and make sure you drain the gearbox and replace with ORIGINAL spec oil as per the handbook all of this has been gone
into on previous threads.
I have owned my 1.9TD Symphony for nearly five years now and it has been great fun we have travelled through France and Belgium and plan
to go to Austria for two weeks in July we have put about 25k miles on her now and it has been as good as gold, the 1.9 TD while it will not win the
F1 we have had no problems travelling the Gorge du Tarn or anywhere else for that matter.
If you are new to this I would suggest a couple of short trips out before you go buying anything you may think you need, there is enough products on
the market to fill your van a thousand times over most of it not needed.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.
Pat.

Thanks Pat - took this vehicle on a test drive and included everthing you suggested, like you said it will not win a formula 1 but performed under the different driving conditions as I had hoped for. So we have bought our first van. I will certainly take on board your other tips and will let you know in a few weeks how we are getting on.
