Switch is not working in your shower taps.

Re: Duetto Shower Problem
I think it's a pressurised system, so I don't think it has individual switches on taps
or does it?
or does it?

Dueto Shower Problem
Your right. Just been out to check.
There are switches on all other taps but not on shower head.
On mine you turn on taps and push that lever on back of shower head. You must have a blockage in the pipe work.

Re: Duetto Shower Problem
Hi there,
Daft question but, if we are talking about an old Duetto, "Do you know that there is a release lever on the shower head itself?"
Until it's depressed nothing will come out of the shower head regardless of the position of the Hot and Cold taps at the bottom.
Hope this helps!
Best regards,

I don't think there is a release lever on the shower head but I may be wrong?
I will check it out tomorrow
Thanks for the feedback

Hi Dave'y
Would suggest as above 2004 duetto system is pressurised ie pump should run to give flow to all outlets.. If washroom taps ok shower is only tee d of that supply so problem is in that area it would seem!. Blockage in shower hose / head? Tap head not operating cartridge in shower tap?shower hose kinked internally? Dunno can't think of much else this time of night or life. Cheers dave h

Re: Duetto Shower Problem
Found the cause but not the solution!
The pipes have been disconnected from the back of the shower
(access to which is gained from behind a plastic cover in the adjoining wardrobe)
Problem now is that there doesn't appear to be enough slack in the red & blue pipes to join onto the shower
It looks as if 2 x right angled adaptors/connectors are required?
Can anyone help me out here please

Re: Duetto Shower Problem
Ah, the pleasure of finding a previous owner's bodged job! Now the guessing begins - why was the pipework disconnected? Because they never used it, or because hidden away in some inaccessible space there is a split coupling that leaks when it's connected up...
Still, only one way to find out. In your position I'd contact AS parts department and see if they can tell you what parts were used there - and they may still stock them.

Thanks Mojo
Have you see the pic, I've only just put the link in
Do you not think just maybe the pipes were disconnected for the winter?

It seems a bit of an extreme way to "winterise". Do the existing straight couplers have plugs in the open ends? If so, maybe they were added purely as an easy way to block the pipes off. If not, it seems to me that there must be bungs somewhere else in the system...

Re: Duetto Shower Problem
Hi w d
Our 2006 duetto is similar just looked as cover is off for other work.......but there are no copper tails screwed into tap. There are two flexible hoses between red/blue feed pipes and screwed directly into tap boss.......they must be 12 " plus . similar set up under sink I looked last year when they split! Original fittings on our van can confirm....maybe your set up was different! Or tap has been changed! Hoses available on ebay etc if you search hard enough . similar to regular tap flexibles. But less common terminations .......food for thought dave h

Re: Duetto Shower Problem
With a bit of jiggery pokery I finally managed to connect the pipes to the shower but..
guess what surprise surprise not the shower mixer tap leaked like a sieve!
Sourced a new one from AS circa £50 delivered & with all the necessary fittings (a reasonable price I thought) ready to do a proper job later in the week
The installation once complete will be the same set up as tallslimdave's 2006 model mentioned above
Thanks again to all contributors, much appreciated

Re: Duetto Shower Problem
Tall Slim Dave, quick couple of questions for you
1. How do you get the plastic cover out of the way & out of the wardrobe
to gain easier access to the plumbing at the back of the shower head
2. I don't suppose you could send me some pics could you please
I'm intrigued to know how to `lose' the flexi pipes so that the plastic cover will go back on ok
Many thanks

Duetto shower problem
Hi w d
You seem to be on the right track! The plastic cover just gets in the way. Slide it up and tie it to the hanging rail or be brutal n it will come out ,removing wardrobe door helps...the flexible to red blue joint on my van sits well down behind the side panel taking up most of the flexible hose slack you may need to remove rear outer panel to reveal lay of pipes and t junction of pipe work!easy enough but be carefully with angle trim fixing n panel pins on edge! It's Only a 3mm board...........a head torch n 4foot thin arms are an asset working in there! No photo s. At present but could overcome the techno fear if you get stuck!! Best of dave h....

Re: Duetto Shower Problem
Finally sorted! `losing' the flexi hose wasn't an issue in the end; I didn't even have to remove the plastic cover from the wardrobe or tie it up somehow & bonus, it fitted back on just fine afterwards.
I had to purchase a new shower hose assembly as the new mixer unit came with a larger 1/2" BSP boss I think (the old one was 3/8"); but in the great scheme a things this was a minor issue
Thanks again to all for your input, especially to tall slim dave
