side door window
heres a bit of a strange one.could anyone please tell me what goes down the inside of the side door window?there is sticky tape(like the back of draught excluder tape) down each side behind the glass as you look at it from outside.something definitely missing can this be replaced?sorry if my explanation is a bit vague but if you look at your side from outside imagine its a goal what do you see where the goal post uprights would be?its on a duet to by the way but i would imagine all side doors are similar.

Re: side door window
Is it possible for you to post a photo of this?
Also what type of Duetto do you have? The Duetto was made on the MK4 & 5 Transit, with glass side windows and plastic windows on the MK 6 & 7 versions. I have had a MK5 and currently have a MK7 and am struggling a bit to understand the question.

Re: side door window
its a mark 5.sorry i didnt explain it to well did i .let me try again.lol.the side door window is basically an oblong, the 2 shortest sides should have some sort of finish on them (behind the glass) but don't.along the bottom longest bit is actually a sort of fur trim,is this what should be down the sides and if so can it be replaced?sorry i can't put a photo up.maybeif some one who can took a picture of theirs it might help(with close ups of the vertical pillars).was that any clearer?

Re: side door window
I have trawled through my photos, but cannot find one with sufficient definition to be of any help. All I can suggest is asking someone like Dutto who (I think) has a MK5 Duetto. Sorry I can't be of more help, but it is now 6 years since we had the MK5 and memory has faded a bit.

Re: side door window
Hi there,
Just been and had a look.
The windows run in "U" shaped groves and fit into "U" shaped ends.
On the vertical "overlap" there is a "U" shaped length of plastic clipped to the edge of each pane with what looks like a small rubber "wiper/draught excluder" on one side.
None of the "furry" bits have anything to do with sealing the window. The one at the bottom is part of the fly-screen and the ones at either side and the top are part of the interior upholstery.
It's too dark to take a photo and too cold to open the window anyway!
I would imagine that all the trim is still available from somewhere.
A breaker's yard would be my first stop as logic dictates that there will be more undamaged window trims than undamaged windows!
Hope this helps.
Best regards,

Hi again,
Just went and trawled through the photographs and this is the best one I can find.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
The two uprights can be clearly seen.
Hope this helps.
Best regards,
PS I am holding a hefty dram because we had just arrived at our "2012 Adventure Destination" which was "The furthest north Lidl in the world." It is in Sodankyla, Finland; and if the photo looks a bit dark that's because it was taken very near to midnight!
