Broken plastic trim on a Trooper.
It's the black piece that goes across the rear of the van, over the tailgate, and it dresses where the elevating roof meets the van.
A-S had told me a while ago it was discontinued, so I'm asking for any ideas on how I can fix, repair or replace it.
I guess there's not a scrappy that just specialises in A-S?

Right, hopefully this will show the part

You might see that it's the hinges that are the reason for it wearing away, they catch it every time the tailgate goes up and down.

Re: Broken plastic trim on a Trooper.
Trouble is that Troopers are so reliable and rust resistant (normally) that they aren't going to appear at a breakers (even one that specialises in caravans and motorhomes) very often.
Wickes sell quite a good range of plastic and aluminium sections, one of which might be modified to fit, but I guess it depends how much it curves and what happens at each end, which can't be seen in the photo. I'm also not sure that any of their plastic "L" sections are black.

Re: Broken plastic trim on a Trooper.
I required 3m of BROWN 90 degree ( right-angle ) plastic last week, none anywhere, so I bought a 3m length of brown-square rainwater downpipe,
then ran it through the band-saw twice, this gave me FOUR lengths
This stuff can be bought in white, brown & black, & I think it will bend to suit the area shown in the photo, can be PU bonded & held down with masking
tape until cured.

Re: Broken plastic trim on a Trooper.
Thanks for all your suggestions.
Yesterday I went to my local hardware shop and found some angled, black plastic.
Luckily exactly the same 30mm, but unluckily the wrong black, too sharp an angle, and smooth rather than textured.
I bought it anyway, even though it would only be good for the middle section, I thought i could cut off the flat ends of the original, and piece this in the centre.
Anyway, slid it behind the hinges, and it looked good, but when holding it down flat along the curve of the roof, it kinked slightly, so I guess would need heating to make it more flexible.
As I've now got the original trim off the van, I am thinking more about repairng it.
It is cracked, and there is a bit that's completely missing, but once repaired I think would be the better option.
I also saw the reason why t had been catching on the hinges, and therefore the reason for breaking in the first place.
The plastic of the elevating roof is screwed down onto the metal of the van roof, but between the screws it has arched upwards thus forcing this trim up too..
I'll put some extra screws in this to hold it down better before I refit the trim.
I've found a seller on eBay who sells bumper repair kits, so will be getting an order in soon.
Also looked up PU adhesive which I'll need too. Thanks for that suggestion.
Thanks again for all your help, just wish these vans weren't so good, so that there would be more at the scrappy's
