Peugeot Express gearbox problems

Have a 2001 Symbol and gearbox has become really noisy. Local garage think its the input bearing failure. Van has only done about 45k miles. Any else had gearbox problems with their Peugeot camper?

Hi,
There are lots of posts on here about gearbox problems, usually caused by water ingress, I would have the gearbox oil changed to start with ensuring that they refill with standard gearbox oil and not the thinner stuff recommended for later models,
