Peugeot 1.9 gearbox
Hi
I have a 2000 w plate Peugeot 1.9 symbol with a failing gearbox ,crunching into 1st,2nd and 4th The local campervan garage are looking at it tomorrow but have said if it needed the gearbox rebuilding then there is a problem as 2nd gear bits are no longer available to purchase. Has anyone else heard of this problem.
Cheers

Re: Peugeot 1.9 gearbox
I have come across this firms website [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] of Oldham who say they able to reverse engineer gearbox parts even from broken ones. Might be worth contacting them if anyone has gearbox problems.

Re: Peugeot 1.9 gearbox
I posted a solution to this last year, A gearbox specialist in Lincoln rebuilds them using new parts as required and tells me that getting new gears and sychromesh bits isn't a problem. He has them manufactured elsewhere in England. Try MTM Gearbox Specialist in Lincoln, tel 01522 689989. I have not used them but they have come recommended by two previous customers. It is a sole trader so patience if you can't get him the first try. Hope it works out for you. Some feedback would be useful.
