Hello & questions, questions, questions
Hi everyone,
We're a family of 4 from Devon, who've always loved camping, but now want a bit of luxury
We're just in the process of buying our first Autosleeper. My only other campervan experience was a battered old Hiace about 20yrs ago when I was a student.
The van we're buying is a V reg, T4, Autosleeper Pop-top. It's done approx 73k miles andd has a 1968cc petrol engine.
As it's our first "proper" camper, we're a bit clueless about what questions we should be asking/what problems we should be looking out for? Can anyone here be the voice of experience?
Thanks a lot,
Dan

Hi Dan, Welcome to the forum
Don't know much about VWs but many on here are experts and I'm sure someone will answer any questions you may have.

Re: Hello & questions, questions, questions
Hi and welcome.
It all may seem a bit scary at first but don't worry and don't look for problems, just relax and enjoy things. If you can, I'd suggest you have at least couple of nights on a site near your home, just to get to know the van and what's what. That way, it's not a major disaster if something doesn't work properly or you forget some vital piece of equipment. Any little hiccups that might happen will give you something to laugh about in the future and what's the worst that can happen anyway?
And remember, the only daft questions are the ones you DON'T ask!

Re: Hello & questions, questions, questions
Thanks for all the all the friendly welcomes!
I suppose I'm not sure what we should be checking on a van of that age, eg what non-obvious bits may suffer from wear & tear, and common issues that might not be immediately obvious, that sort of thing.
Cheers
Dan

Hi there,
Welcome from what has been a lovely warm sunny day in Skegness.
Check out the Factsheets Section and you should find a Checklist for the questions you need to ask before you buy.
Best regards,

OK, I'm clearly a numptie as I can't see a factsheet on "what to look for before you buy" in the factsheet section - https://www.autosleeper-ownersforum.com/f27-members-factsheets-section
Can anyone enlighten me?
