Reversing camera cables
Hi, I'm fitting a reversing camera to my 1995 Duetto, and wondered if anyone knows the best route to lay the cables?

Picture quality
Yea I was thinking of doing that but was told the picture quality was not as good and that they were prone to interference.
I have now got the cable version so just got to figure out the best route for the cable

Re: Reversing camera cables
When I fit the coax (for my AR aerials) I find a grommet in the floor somewhere at the front and run the cable through the chassis to the rear of the van. Its worked on the last three.
With a PVC you could then with a bit of luck run it up the inside rear (where possibly the lighting cables enter) to a high level with a minium of internal wall panelling removal

Re: Reversing camera cables
I took out the cupboard above the rear doors drilled a hole through the fibre glass. The cable is then fed underneath the top lockers and above the windows. Out of sight almost all the way. Take it above the drivers door and then either down to the dashboard or around to the rear view mirror depending where the monitor will be. I bought camera and monitor from reversingcamerasuk.com . The guy is very helpful. Suggest you have a dash mounted monitor the ones clipped to the rear view mirror tends to give unwanted reflections

Great thinking
That's great thinking, we just came to the same conclusion, popped out the reading lights and found that a load of other cables run along there too, then removed the back panel/locker and will drill through there. Great stuff. Already got my scream as I have gone for a stereo with built in DVD/Reversing camera screen.
Cheers for all your help.

Job Done
Well the job is done and all is working great, bit fiddle, especially around the cab, but managed to remove the cable coverings, I.e. headliner and pillars then the front of dashboard, as I went for the Ripspeed 740 in the end (stereo,cd and DVD in one with flip out screen) the reversing camera works great though it, we'll pleased.
