That's an evening of my life I won't get back. All those Stigs with the rings, finding the whole thing as entertaining as the toothache so far...

Was the flame handed over, I thought the flame for the new games was lit by the sun at Olympia before each event?

Watched some of it and I was reminded of what one critic called ALW's follow up to 'Phantom of the Opera', calling it 'Paint Never Dries'.

Much much better than the handover of the Olympic flag to Boris in Bejing. His waving of the flag was indeed cringeworthy.

National youth orchestra Mahler 1 was on BBC4 from proms at same time so no brainer. Nice performance of cracking symphony I last played about 15 years ago
