Side door closing

Hi everybody  Newby here with a Warwick XL  Just wondering if anybody can help  The side access door opens fine from inside when closed  But once fully opened I cannot seem to use the inside handle to close the door and have to stretch to use the outside handle  Is this correct or I am missing something obvious  Thanks to anybody that can help

Should be able to just pull on the top of the inside handle to release the catch, if doesn't work the cable between handle and catch may be loose or broken.

Thank you for the input  Will try that

Just give it a good slam and repeat till it closes
