Blinds in side door
Good morning, sorry all but it's me again. Can anyone tell me if the blinds in the side sliding door should have screws to secure them mine are loose and just rattle around inside the window frame. I don't think this is how they should be but can't find any loose screws but there is small holes in the frame. Thanks for any info. Kevin

Re: Blinds in side door
If you remove the door card that surrounds the window there should be four brackets attached to the blind unit, these are attached to the door with inadequate screws that work loose and fall of leaving the frame to rattle. Many of us have used bigger screws, and added extra brackets. I still have to remove the door card occasionally and tighten everything up to prevent rattles.
I suspect the continual slamming shut of the side door doesn't help and I am hopeful the mod I have just done of adding an extra handle to the door, as reported in this section by FreelanderUK will help with this

Same problem on our Duo, but door card is hard to remove totally due to bathroom being in the way, unless someone has very small hands! I have reduced some of the rattle by stuffing pipe foam around the front of the blind cassette.

Hi Kevin, just fixed my door blind this morning after a failed attempt 2 years ago.You really need to do away with all self tapping scews on the 4 brackets used to mount the frame.I have fixed the brackets to the black frame mounting with M4 nuts and bolts, and fixed to the the door frame using M4 rivnuts fixed into the doorframe. Results seems very solid particularly with some foam packing in the gaps.Good luck

Re: Blinds in side door
Hi all and thanks for info on the sliding door blinds, yes as stated the brackets are worse than useless. When I took the surround of it look's like someone has been in before me. So I attached the brackets to the frame with small nut's and bolts then found some small self cutting, self tapping screws with 8mm heads and bolted the bracket to the door with them. Hopefully job done and will last a while. Thanks again all. Kevin
