To seal or not to seal
When clearing mud etc from the rear wheel arches of my WXL on A Boxer I pulled out what appears to be some sort of foam from the box section gap pictured, it had some traces of paint on it so I would think it was there at the time the vehicle was manufactured, it's where the sill section meets the body. I am wondering if it intentionally put there to stop water and mud entering and if I should replace the sealant it to stop water getting trapped in the box sectior whether it's just overfill from the joint during manufacture and should be left partly open. My thoughts are that if there was some sort of seal I should replace it but I would welcome comment from people with the same vehicle, especially if they were kind enough to examine theirs.

when you look at the n/s rear wing from the side of the van it is in the 10.00 o clock position and needs to be sealed to stop water etc going in

Re: To seal or not to seal
Thank you, That put my mind at rest and confirms what I was thinking. The box section in the picture is indeed at 10 o'clock. The only reason I can think of for such a box section is so that the lower rear wing can be adjusted when being fitted more easily having some room for manoeuvre. Thank you for you reply, much appreciated.
