seal around windscreen
well, i've finally stopped stalling my vw trident. couldn't believe i was lousy getting finesse with the feet on this thing have bought the new battery for it and goes like a dream now, especially as i've got the knack of it.
Unfortunately the seal around the windscreen has come loose and i've got a puddle at my feet by the peddles where the rain gets in. has anyone got an idea on how to fix this? can a perplexed female do the job herself , or will it need a completely new one fixed by blokes at the garage?
thanks all in anticipation
love
Diane and trident.

Try someone like 'Autoglass' or 'Mobile Windscreens'
They can replace/reseal windscreens for you and shouldn't be too expensive.
Where you see the water is not necessarilly where it is coming in!
And if they break the screen....it's down to them.

Re: seal around windscreen
I have had a dripping windscreen leak, since my windscreen was removed to attend to some rust patches appearing around the windscreen.
I took some of the interior trim off to get access to the inside of the screen & used some screen sealer, placed by a cotton wool bud along where the glass & metal interface.
Seems to have sorted it out after a few attempts and the recent heavy rain.
My seal had shrunk a bit & was re-used when the screen was put back in, which may not have been a good idea.
A new seal may cure your leaks or refer to my narrative above.
Good luck!

Hi Diane
There's a product on the market called "Captain Tollys Creeping Crack Cure", no this isn't a joke that's what it's actually called. I've used it on a few occaisions with total success once to seal the leaking sunroof seal on a Peugeot car It drys clear leaving no unsightly mess and is easily applied just follow the instructions, also clean away the excess with paper towel as it is very liquid and tends to run away like water. I always keep a bottle of the stuff in the van just in case as it takes up no room and has an indefinate shelf life even after opening.
Cheers John.

New rubber seal and professional fit is the way to go. Top tip never go anywhere near rubber with white spirit or any solvent for that matter- they don't like each other.
