Re: Draughty Round Vent
Cheers, David. I did wonder if they removed the strips deliberately. Ours looked as rough as rats.
Ah, yes, I remember reading about your removal of the M/W. Neat job.

Done the same after you posted about in some years ago. Never regretted it, very useful extra space now. I also blocked up the vent with a lid from Tesco.Dbvwt wrote:I might be wrong TW but as I mentioned, I think A/S realised they had not provided enough ventilation and as such removed the nice tidy edging strips and I quote you “left it looking a bit of a mess”.
The Louvre door was not A/S, I fitted that after removing the microwave.

Re: Draughty Round Vent
Aren’t these vans peculiar? We’ve had our Symbol six years and have used the microwave literally every day. We have the plastic vent but have never felt a draught, probably due to the wooden strips which are closely fitted around the (original equipment) microwave.
Neither has the microwave ever cut out, l put a few extra screws here and there but it’s rattle free as well.
Hope l haven’t spoken too soon!

So my mod to let the heat out and have blocked the vent that has the wind blow through in the winter and if the sun is that side hot air in the summer so will not help keep the area cold
With my mod makes my camper warmer and let’s the heat out at the top as is needid and stops any water ever coming in the vent that was fitted
This is all shown to help others on my kemerton xl improvements post
