Thetford N3000
Morning all, Half way through a weeks holiday and fridge will only work on gas.
On mains it shows an error code 8, on battery it shows error code 6. All the mains supply items are working correctly.
Be grateful for any ideas/advice.
Thanks

Sadly I suspect your 230v element has gone, it's happened to a number of us. There are several threads, including one with very good instructions on replacing it through the fridge vent. You may find them using the search function in the coach built section

Apple, you might want to scroll down to the post by Kemerton- Bath, Tim gives a very helpful description of the issue

Re: Thetford N3000
Tony, that’s very kind, thanks for the mention!
The ability to replace the element in the way I did depends on where the rear vents are in relation to the fridge. On the 6m Kemerton there was reasonably straightforward access via the vents. On our Kemerton XL the top vent is nowhere near the fridge and the lower vent doesn’t provide access. Thus the same operation will require removal of the fridge, a prospect which I don’t relish.

thank you
Thanks all, for the replies to date. I've just booked the van in for a warrant repair at Dicksons in Perth. However the earliest date they have is June 14th !!!!! some 7 weeks and two trips away. I'm just going to checkout the fuses but am confused at the location.
I've removed and looked behind the exterior panel but can't see any fuse location
Any advice as to location/number of fuse(s) would be gratefully received.

Re: Thetford N3000
Not sure about your model but ours are in a box at floor level behind the drivers seat. They should be marked.

The high current fuse (20A) for the fridge in its 12V mode is in the Sargent EM40 box, which is the interface between the vehicle 12V system and the habitation 12V system. It’s often tucked away in a hard-to-access location. Here’s a picture of the unit:
For 240V operation there are no fuses, only miniature circuit breakers (MCBs) within the Sargent power supply enclosure. It will be obvious if one has tripped. Your handbook should tell you which items are connected to each breaker.
The picture below shows the MCBs on the RH panel, though you may have a different power supply unit than the one shown.

Re: Thetford N3000
Thanks for all the constructive files - I've changed the 20 amp fuses even though they were OK (paranoia setting in) I'm now fairly confident a new element and/or board is needed.
Thanks for all your help
