Re: Weather
2 degrees with clear sky but fairly still. Had Chinese takeaway for tea last night, can't sleep and have raging thirst and churning stomach. Sitting in the dark in lounge rehydrating before having another go at sleep. Have a good night/day

Re: Weather
Hope you're feeling a bit better BB, maybe better sticking to the bridies
No change here, still -2°c with a clear sky and la frost. We got a washing out yesterday after 10am and by 2pm it was almost dry because we had full sun and a brisk breeze blowing. Busy day, guy coming soon to measure up to replace the two living room d/g windows that have blown then digging the black tie out again

Thanks Tony, normal service has been resumed. Fell asleep again about 4am. Cars not frosted this morning, clear sky and no wind. Looks like nice day ahead. Hope your plans fall into place.

2° here at moment, rising to 6. Didn't drop below freezing overnight , has been a slight thaw but everywhere still covered with watery snow. Tonight though temps are dropping to -6. Yellow ice warning in force until tomorrow.

Re: Weather
It’s bright and clear this morning with a couple of patches of frost on our walk. I don’t know what the temperature is but I have just repaired the hose ready for filling up for our next trip. It might have thawed out enough to show the split in it but it was blooming cold on the pinkies. Memories of pressure washing new cars on the compounds. Cold water didn’t shift transit wax but you do what the bosses tell you.

Cold dry and frosty earlier, had a good walk with Tag, back in for porridge,no Chinese nosh for me,hate the stuff, used to get some good Indian curries from Gibson street Glasgow.
Heavy rain showers started around 8 am,not forecasted, fortunately we can get the washing out to dry under the car canopy.
Have a good day, stay warm.

Thanks Ian, I don't add salt when cooking so between high salt and msg in Chinese plus increase in one of my medicines that causes dry mouth guess as a retired pharmacist I should have seen it coming. Back to home cooking for me.

Re: Weather
Yes, hovering around 1°c but still got a ground frost. There's a blanket of cloud so we have a red sky with the sun rise. We might get some wintery showers before the warmer and wetter stuff arrives overnight. We're having a quiet day after all yesterday's activity.

Gauge reading 7°c and a light covering of cloud but no rain yet. Expect we'll see some as the day goes on. Got a low gutter to check so hopefully I'll get that done before it arrives.

4 degrees here today and overcast. Had a bit of Scotch Mist (the very fine drizzle which goes through absolutely everything, no matter how waterproof) but no real rain yet.

Noticed yesterday that as forecast is for much warmer temperatures across the country three coal fired power stations were asked to fire up in readiness for increased demand for electricity

Actually they've been running all week on what is called spinning reserve, ie at idle power ready for rapid use. In the last cold spell they were generating more than wind.....
Google Gridwatch Templar, it's fascinating...
Third beautiful day here the fog is south of us (glad not flying into or out of Heathrow this morning) but still -3 right now. Truck getting a run to Sheringham and back today hasn't moved for ages.....
