Apparently it’s something to do with keeping the extensive coastline and its waters clean, the extra demand put on supplies during the

Re: Weather
The rain is absolutely bouncing down here but it has stopped the nightly barrage of fireworks so me and muttly will be able to go for our walk at the normal time. A brolly might be a good idea.

Re: Weather
Heavy rain overnight with a brief weather window at 4.30, long enough to get Tag out for his abulations, heavy rain back on again.
Should dry up after lunch, have a nice day.

Re: Weather
Our morning has started dry but damp after overnight rain. We have another weather system heading our way so more rain to come. Busy day, out for a coffee with my "big" brother (he's smaller than me ) then picking up the van to take it for a service and MOT tomorrow. Usual emotions are in place

Re: Weather
Good luck with that Tony.
Looks like we had a hurricane last night, debris from the trees everywhere but more strong winds forecast this afternoon so not really worth trying to clear up until that has passed.
Otherwise a rare day with absolutely nothing planned!
Have a great day all

All change again this morning with a bright dry start to the day. Muttly will be happy with his walk with the wet grass after last nights rain.

Re: Weather
Overnight rain now stopped, just nipped out to bins and realised I should have put a coat on, much much colder this morning. Feels like a proper November

Another dry and bright start here. I have a visit to the dentist first thing so muttly will have to wait for his walk. Hopefully I will be back before the weather changes.

Re: Weather
Classic shepherd's warning this morning with a bright red sunrise. It's dry now with a bit of cloud but some nasty heavy rain and high winds on the way.
Bit grumpy this morning, still rankled after getting a phone call yesterday from a receptionist at my GP surgery. She told me I was getting new medication immediately and to arrange a date for me to have tests with the practice nurse. I didn't want to shoot the messenger, but she was clearly surprised that I was unhappy at being given a prescription without ever seeing a medical professional or any explanation of what the meds are for. Seems we're entering the age of Amazon style health care

Re: Weather
Tony, prescribing should be a partnership between patient and health care professional, when I qualified as a pharmacist in 1980 we were still 8n "Dr knows best" and patients were supposed to do as they were told. Attitudes started to change in late 80s from compliance, to concordance where patient was supposed to agree to follow instructions to partnership where agreed health outcomes are negotiated.
Sounds like your practice is about 30 years behind current practice and you are perfectly entitled to ask for discussion with prescribers before you decide if you are OK with rational for, and risks and benefits of the new medicine

Re: Weather
Yes the World has gone mad in so many ways, that is a fine example Tony.
Strong winds again last night, dry for now but more wind and rain coming, Visitors land at Heathrow later today, hoping to have the garden looking immaculate for them, that's not going to happen now.

Blowing a gale on our bit of Anglesey. With the suspension bridge closed as it is, I dread to think what would happen if Britania Bridge had to close due to the weather today.

Re: Weather
6 degrees, clear blue sky as sunrises and no wind. Complete transformation from yesterday where very strong wind and torrential rain predominated. No 1 daughter managed to drive into a flood on country road to Carnoustie last night, car kept going but she lost plastic skirt below front bumper and front number plate dislodged. Need to go and check in daylight if I can replace or repair or if we need to contact a friend who has a car bodyshop business.
Have a good day

Re: Weather
Same clear sky and sunshine here too, gauge says 12°c but feels much colder than that. Yesterday was just as wild as predicted with high winds and torrential rain, it was early evening by the time the garage had finished the work on our van. It was very dark and the lying water accompanied by strong gusts made the trip back to the storage unit great fun
I'm a bit (only a little bit) less grumpy after the van got it's big service and passed the MOT yesterday, even got sent a wee video of the technician doing a (free ?) health check on the tyres, brakes, track rods, springs etc. All good.
Take care all.

Re: Weather
It looks like last nights windy weather has eased off a bit here so after muttly has had his walk I am going to try and get the leaves swept up in the back garden.
It always reminds me of leaf clearing when I was stationed in Germany. One of our camps looked like it was built in a forest. We filled 3 ton trucks with leaves until the CSM could see the grass.
