Re: Weather
Sorry to hear your wife has a plaster on her foot Boaby, hope it's not too serious.
It has been a nice drying day here too so all the holiday washing has been done and dried. Just the ironing to do now I see from watching the TV today that the plane we spotted flying low over Dunbar on the 6th August was a Globemaster and not an Atlas as I first thought.

Stopped at Cairn Lodge services for lunch today.Bilbobaggins wrote:Lovely sunny morning after what turned out to be a much nicer day than forecast yesterday, dried up by breakfast and was warm. Had a nice day at RSPB Leighton Moss.
Of to Sizergh Castle today, leaving about 4pm for four hour drive home with stop at Cairn Lodge services for tea.
Have a good day.
Lovely sunny drive up to Loch Lomond.

Re: Weather
Repeat weather as yesterday, great walk down with Tag to the harbour, busy wee place with lots of crab/ lobster boats going out.
Wife's stookie only on for a wee while Tony, ligament/ tendon damage , told not to go parachuting at the weekend.
The Inverbeg hotel just of the main Loch Lomand road used to be a great place for meals Paul, carn't vouch for it now. At least the midge should be away now.
Have a great day.

Same here on the repeat front Boaby, bright and sunny but feels much cooler. Hope your wife feels better soon
Enjoy your trip Paul, should be getting some decent views up there in this weather. Don't go swimming in the Loch though, it's a bit on the cold side

Re: Weather
Tee shirt and shorts before we left the Lakes yesterday, 13degrees when we got home at 9pm, 9degrees this morning but bright and sunny.
Time for a second cuppa before emptying the van. Taking management's car to Dundee this afternoon to leave at garage for MOT and major service, this one will hurt as needs brakes sorted, two new tyres and Aircon stopped working two weeks ago.
Enjoy your trip Paul.

Great views from Loch shore , pitched 20 metres away. Watched a neighbour swim in the Loch, she said it was warmer than the water at Oban (she does a lot of swimming), I took her word for it.Askit wrote:Same here on the repeat front Boaby, bright and sunny but feels much cooler. Re: Weather
Sounds perfect Paul. You'll be fine to swim in it as long as it doesn't have a layer of ice on top.
More mizzle down her though there is a threat of something better later, amazing how quickly you get fed up with it.
Have a great day all, good luck with whatever is on and hope the Wife makes good progress Boaby.

Yes, sunny here too. It looks like we're getting clear skies across most of the country today and into the weekend. Price to pay is the lower temperatures, hope you packed the thermals Paul. Have a good trip

Re: Weather
Had to google Sewerby, looks great for walking along there.
Overcast this morning, dry though and quite warm. Told we have some stone troughs to move today then grass cutting so looks like an active one. Forecast to stay dry anyway which is a good thing.

Re: Weather
Still bright and sunny around these parts but decidedly cool. I was up early enough (don't ask ) to see a glorious sunrise, there are a few bits of random cloud but nothing to cause any precipitation (tempting fate ). Few things to organise today so that's my lot. Take care folks and good luck to all travelling.

Re: Weather
Back from the 7.30am shop, bright sunny morning down here, a little chilly at first but looks promising for the rest of the day. Will spend a bit more time what I believe you call fettling the motorhome today, no faults just tightening screws, cleaning, lubricating and making sure everything is just as it should be.
Got all the grass cut yesterday, can't believe how fast it is growing now there is a bit of moisture in the air.
Have a great day all

If your in Markinch Paul ? I can recommend the large fudge doughnuts from the COOP, ( used to be a baker there) , we had a few when we stopped there in May/June.
Heavy rain showers throughout the morning, wind is ramping up too.

Re: Weather
Very little change in the weather here, still sunny with some scattered cloud but the temperature has dropped again by a couple of degrees. Looks like there's a change coming after the weekend with stronger winds and rain from the north.
Take care all, enjoy it while you can

Not Markinch this time (stayed at Balbirnie site before and never forget those screeching crows from 4 in the morning). Had a coastal drive from Criel, through Anstruther, Pittenweem and Elie, fish and chips in Anstruther.burlingtonboaby wrote:Paulmold wrote:Over in Fife, its a sunny start, decidedly cool night. Re: Weather
Bright sun and blue skies this morning but a little cooler at 12 degrees. Looks like a good weekend ahead, finishing a few jobs on the van. Used the corner steadies when in France, first time in many years, despite my having oiled them they were reluctant to come down. Plus gas and a hefty dose of marine grease in order I think. Whilst under there will attack the spare wheel carrier and make sure that is greased and operational too.
Have a great day all, especially those out on the road.
