Removal of Sliding Pan Drawer on Symbol Plus
Hello
The door of the large sliding pan drawer on our Symbol Plus has started to become detached from the sides and I need to fully remove the drawer in order to fix it. Does anyone know how to fully extract the drawer from its runners? There is a two part metal runner on each side of the drawer with one part attached to the drawer and one part attached to the carcase. Normally there is a lever or something similar which can be depressed to allow the drawer to be fully withdrawn past the end stops but I can't see any.
Any advice would be very welcome, can't see any previous topic that answers this question.
You can see some images of the drawer here

Can you not fully extend and lift the drawer front upwards and out to extract from the runners ?

As you say no levers to remove drawer, well not on our 2015 duo. I fully extended the drawer, then removed the very short runner fixing screws. Not easy to get at, even harder to get a good fix back, I used slightly larger screws, beware they don't hold well, infact I glued match sticks in the holes, then managed to get a hold. My drawer front was OK, a screw had come out and jammed a runner, total rubbish fix by AS, but saying that thin chipboard frame!

Ps I did use all the fixing holes when refitting, so far still holding after 2 years.

Same as Richard. The drawer in my 2014 WXL had dropped, I removed all the screws. Glued cocktail sticks to holes and replaced with thicker screws, also added additional screws to any unused holes in sliding mechanism. Used thin wedges to hold drawer in place for refitting.
Also removed the three drawers under the wardrobe and did same fix, these do lift of at the end of the runner. Tight fit with fridge opposite but straightforward.

Hi
Thanks for the response.
Yes, I know what you mean, but no, it's not possible to remove it that way

Yes I thought about this approach, but the back screws on each runner are recessed beyond the carcase back and are really difficult to access without a specialist tool. Plus it sounds like removing and refitting the screws could weaken them and lead to further problems. I think I'll opt for a repair which doesn't require the removal of the drawer.

Might be best method, def. easier. I have read that others have moved the sliding hinges a bit, so you can make new screw holes for a better fix, rather than plugging the original ones.
Worst part I found was lack of leg room and getting back up again at 75

Re: Removal of Sliding Pan Drawer on Symbol Plus
The drawer is probably the same design as our 2015 Stanway. The rear of the runner protrudes into the gas tap locker inside the back doors. The 2 front screws are just visible with the drawer open. I removed ours and fitted 2 full depth drawers made with metal sides and runners from ebay, ply base and back. The lower main drawer has the full height original front, while the top one is accessed when opening the main one. The runners are the lift out 2 plastic wheel type, not full extension but pretty near.
Well worth doing as there is a distinct lack of drawers. I have also just put a fully extending drawer in the kitchen side of the wardrobe above the fridge and a slide out cutlery tray under the sink with the old runners from the drawer laid flat, similar to the slide out worktop.
Kind regards,
Rob

I also made some extra drawers in the Duo, under the sink. I made 2 with runners and they make use of the space and hold tins, packets etc.
