Insurance renewal
Afternoon all.
I am looking around for insurance renewal Due 3rd May with Adrian Flux.
I have tried several ways to access their website but only get the car option.
There is a button next to a picture of a MH but it takes you to the car quotes page.
So does anyone know another route or do I have to wait for the renewal in the post?

Re: Insurance renewal
Not on Sunday, apparently
"All our offices are currently closed, click the button below
to get a quote"
Straight to car insurance. Tried entering reg number. "Sorry we couldn't find
your vehicle etc"

You've got plenty of time. I'm with Adrian Flux and renewal doesn't come until a week before and if they have your email address it comes by that , not post.

Yes that's why I do some research beforehand, don't want to feel under pressure
in 2 weeks.
TBH I wasn't impressed with AF last year. Discussion on the phone was more than their online
quote. Finally got that price but begrudgingly I felt. Whatever.

Re: Insurance renewal
Have you had a quote from Safeguard?
Their motorhome insurance policy also includes UK & European breakdown if that's any use to you.

Re: Insurance renewal
Haha!
Safeguard is the second most expensive so far, £564.21.
That's without any 'extras' like breakdown cover, EU travel
but including NCD protection. Only 1 claim, for windscreen repair.

Re: Insurance renewal
Well, the CMC quote £286.33 from their website and AF through comparison site is £570.
I'll give AF a call Monday to see if they will give me a price yet.

Re: Insurance renewal
In all of our years with them, the quoted price from Safeguard automatically includes the UK & European breakdown etc, they're not extras. And their year on year renewals have never shot up, in some cases they've reduced.
However if that is greater than the sum of any alternative quotes for all of those, assuming they are needed, then fair enough, but just be sure not to be comparing apples and oranges, as the saying goes.
Sadly it looks like we may be leaving Safeguard this year as their breakdown cover is via AA Fleet Services and they won't cover vehicles over 20 years old. We've already arranged to go with RAC Arrival Personal with annual European cover. So in June we will be comparing the market for motorhome insurance premiums, hence will be interested to see who you finally decide on.

Re: Insurance renewal
OK. I always do the final signing up on the phone. Hopefully to avoid missing something vital from the quote.
We use Greenflag/Mayday for B/D cover and the one time we needed them, blown tyre, they dealt with it perfectly well.
Last year as I remember the Caravan & Motorhome Club were silly numbers, like hundreds of pounds out from AF. But for some reason this year they have become competitive.

Re: Insurance renewal
I'm getting frustrated now.
Last year AF sent the renewal notice on the 10th April.
Still waiting for this years.
Now I can't get into MyFlux to check online. Partly my fault because my call blocker ignores
automated calls and my mobile number is not recognised.
Being Easter I wouldn't expect any office presence so just venting!
Sorry

Re: Insurance renewal
We've had the same experience: we've just renewed and this year's price is lower than last year's. (And is nowhere near the £500+ price the OP has been quoted!)rogerblack wrote:In all of our years with them, the quoted price from Safeguard automatically includes the UK & European breakdown etc, they're not extras. Re: Insurance renewal
Last year I added our van to our car policy with LV. Saved £200 compared to 'specialist' insurers. This year the price dropped for both (first time ever). It doesn't include recovery, but I have that with RAC via my National Trust membership. LV have been excellent when I needed them.

When I asked last year I was told they only insure cars!
