Renewal of membership
I joined this forum about 4 years ago when my Husband and myself bought a Volkswagan Clubman 1997.
However, in October 2017 he died, very suddenly and unexpectedly, leaving me with lots of things to sort out,
Including the Motorhome.
I initially thought to sell it, but Family have persuaded me not to act too hastily, and keep it for a while.
I’m ok driving it, but my husband always did the jobs prior to going away.
I may need help with certain things, so am just introducing myself as a new member ( though not strictly)
As will probably asking lots of ( silly ) questions that my husband could have dealt with, but I can’t.
Thanks in advance,
Anne

Hi Anne
Sorry to hear of your loss. You'll find the folks on here will be very happy to help with anything we can. The only silly questions are the ones you don't ask so please never be afraid to request help, We all had to learn to start with.
cheers
Roger

Hi Anne,
Sorry to hear of your loss, but good that you intend to carry on.
When I first had a motor home, I am now on my third in six years, my husband didn`t want to know, so I was / still am at times, a solo traveller with my dog, as we had caravans for many years he always did what I called the technical jobs, whereas I did the domestic jobs, which worked well.
When I was on my own with the motor home everything needed to be done by me, so was a learning curve, now it is second nature, water filling, loo emptying etc. I changed vans last December, so having to learn some new things that are different to my previous van.
I have had a lot of help and advice from the very helpful forum members, you couldn`t get better members than those on here, so just ask and someone will be able to help / advice.
So relax and enjoy and you will soon be an old hand with it, Happy and safe
Very best wishes,
Margaret

Yes, that’s how we worked, he did technical jobs, I did domestic and it worked well!
Thanks for the encouragement, I will be ok and glad to know I can ask for help on here.

Thanks to everyone who has replied. Feel quite confident to carry on with Motorhome with support from everyone on here.
Been trying to change my profile but don’t know how to. I noticed that I had put my age as 22, no idea why I did this when I joined, but don’t get excited chaps, I’m actually 69!!
Anyone know how to change this???
Thanks.

Immobile Jim - Unable to Reply
Thanks to tireless assistance from Roli, and after almost a week, I have finally discovered why I have been unable to post anything on ASOF.
The problem has been caused by a setting within Firefox, which was not allowing 'pop-ups', consequently the icons in ASOF such as New Post and Post Reply were not displaying.
Additionally my Kaspersky Security was set to block data collection, and this may also have been contributing.
My initial problem arose when I tried to send a picture of my Motorhome Small Shelf to a Forum Member.
As a test, here is a copy of the picture (possibly ....... if I have understood the hosting site)
If it works, my thanks go to Roli for pointing me in the right direction !

Re: Renewal of membership
Hello Anne,
I'm sorry to read of your Husband's passing.
I hope you're managing the motorhome jobs you are now doing.
Members on here are very helpful. I wonder if your, what you call 'silly' questions will out-do my thoughts when doing my jobs, teehee.
It's always me who does the jobs before going away, hopefully, when you've done them a few times you'll have 'em sorted. Take it steady, give yourself time.
I probably won't be much help, sorry, as I'm not familiar with the model you have.
Take care,
V.
