Replacement Trident rear moulding?
Hi there,
I am the new owner of a 2000 Trident and am trying to track down a few pieces I would like to replace.
So far I have had no luck Googling for this part (see image). The bottom support for the parcel shelf is cracked. Is it a moulding or a panel? Either way Google cant find it for me.
If anyone could tell me how and where I might find one that would be great.

Re: Replacement Trident rear moulding?
It's a vacuum-moulded trim panel, which as far as I'm aware is unique to A/S. The only realistic source for a new part is A/S, but I doubt they will have any in stock. You may be able to locate a secondhand part via breakers that specialise in motorhome breaking, but there's a good chance that any secondhand part will be cracked too.
If you remove it you may find that there's a maker's label on the back, but when I tried that for a rear tailgate panel on our Trooper the company were not interested in supplying one-offs.
Various techniques have been used here to make repairs. I used epoxy adhesive with a perforated metal sheet, and I was able to tint the epoxy with paint to achieve a fairly good colour match for the shade of beige used on our van. That was of course quite time-consuming!

Thanks for the words, at least now I know what I’m searching for. I was expecting the chances of easy replacement were slim but there is always hope.
I will attempt some reinforcement I think and will look into perforated metal.
Thanks again.

I have to admit that I think the thing that will be useful in ~your~ case will be the epoxy adhesive, or alternatively fibreglass.
The perforated metal sheet worked in our situation because it was a flat section (the damage had been caused by a previous owner leaving the upper cupboard door open and slamming the tailgate on it). But I doubt it will be useful in more confined spaces.
