Side panel drip trim Empty Side panel drip trim

Post by Joe215 Wed Apr 21, 2021 5:43 pm

Hi all,
This is my first post...so be kind!

We have a 1986 T25 VX50. Elevating roof.

The drip trim at the bottom of the side panels has cracked and broken and needs replacing. Part number PCO202 2.33m - side panel drip moulding. I have contacted Autosleeper parts dept and they threw out 2000meters in 2017 as they no longer used it. The very helpful chap I spoke to gave me the name ‘first line extrusions’ who made the trim, they unfortunately went out of business in 2006.

I have tried seals direct (new milton) but they can only suggest bonding two pieces of rubber together and I’m not convinced this will work and I would like to keep the van as close to original as possible.

Has anybody found a solution to replacing this part?

Regards.

Is it a solid sided elevating roof?

Yes the solid sided one. Some call it a “elevating roof” I think.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I had similar roof  on a 1984 Transit campervan but can't remember  anything about the seals on such a roof.

Might be worth trying Woolies, though it sounds like it may have been a custom profile. If so you may have no choice but the make it up out of parts that are currently in production.
