Side trim panel problems Empty Side trim panel problems

Post by npjrogers Thu Oct 29, 2020 5:41 pm

Can anyone tell me what size and spec of plastic fixing clips I need to refasten the Black side trim panels on my transit based AS. We are getting a leak and suspect it is getting in behind the side trim panel and dont want to remove it till we have the correct fixings to replace it.. Many thanks for any help. The clips seem to be 17mm head diameter.

As far as I'm aware, the exterior trim panels are fastened to wooden slats with sealant/adhesive such as sikaflex so the fastening to the slats isn't that specific.

I think this might be a reference to Mk6/7 based conversions - probably the Duetto - which seem (in many Ebay adverts) to have fixings in the corners.

I would guess that they are probably short self-tapping (hopefully stainless) screws with black push-on caps - but I don't know!

If npjrogers would update his profile with model and year we might have a better clue.

According to the same post on FB it's a 96 Duetto.
