Looks like it will be a showery one today, nowhere near as warm, heavy rain and storms forecast for tonight.
Sadly not a happy haircut, been going to the same Lady for a few years but think she has now lost the plot so finding someone else! Either my head is not on straight or she should have gone to specsavers, length wise I have been accused of looking like an ancient member of the yardbirds, haven't seen my ears for years. hugegrins

Crikey,Yardbirds, you're going back abit Gh, went to see them in Coventry back in the mid 60's , talking about Specsavers,I love the advert where the old guy in the Croft is clipping his sheep and his dog gets a clip too.   hugegrins   Brilliant.

Still no rain here, in fact it's quite warm and sunny. My wife has been using my head to practice her topiary skills for 30 years. She must be getting very good because it takes her about a quarter of the time it took 30 years ago  snigger

I had tickets to see the Yardbirds in Glasgow circa 1965 but they disbanded (geddit) before the date. Did see Clapton with Cream at the Locarno though  shrugg

The wife and I used to go the Lacarno, late 60's  where the stage used to revolve around for the next band to start, great venue back in the day, also the Barrow lands if you wanted abit of excitement.  hugegrins

Still mild but blowing a gale .leaves coming of the trees already.  shrugg
Have a nice day.

Blew quite hard last night and a lot of debris down this morning. Not much rain though so things still very dry. Birds seem to be going through a huge amount of sunflower seeds, either that or they are falling out of the feeders as they get blown about, need to find some better ones.
Have a great day all allthumbz

Still no rain here, but cooler but it's hard to get a breath. Now the forecast is for it to stay dry, so we're sure to be getting wet soon  Whistle1

Boaby, Clapton joined and left before Jimmy Page joined the Yardbirds. I think there was a lot of coming and going before he and John Paul Jones got LZ going. I'm a big Led Zepplin fan, never seen them live but got most of their albums (on vinyl or tape cassette  hugegrins)

ELO,Tom Petty, the traveling  Willberries,I have some LZ down loaded too.
It's been pouring down for hours, eased of enough to get Tag out for 20 mins.

As predicted we got some rain.....but not very much. Lasted about half an hour and now the sun is out again.

Yes I like ELO, their version of Roll over Beethoven is one of my all time favourites.

Led Zep were doing a few nights at Earls Court May 1975 but tickets sold out very quickly ( I think just over 1/2 day but that was pre internet )

They opted to do two extra nights and my cousin and I managed to get a pair of tickets on the 4th night, the show was mostly Physical Graffiti and Kashmir and Bron-y-Aur Stomp you could feel in your bones.

We were on the mezzanine floor to the right of the stage so were able to look right down onto the stage and see everything as it happened. However the stunning part of the staging was a massive live action screen projection up and to the back of the stage virtually at eye level with feeds from cameras on the ground floor. The technology was ground-breaking at the time although old hat at most festivals today but it meant we had two views of the action.

I wore out my show T-shirt, apparently any memorabilia from the show is worth a few pennies now.

Blowing a Hooley most of the afternoon, had to fix back up the runner beans and the Sweetcorn, a few sunflower stems broke off altogether. Despite that very little rain.

Heavy rain throughout the night, eased of long enough to get Tag out for a wee donder, met up with an old dog walking friend without his Black Spaniel, after 14 years he had lost his old Pal.
I was into the Stones as a youth and early twenties, then Motown, missed the punk era , liked Blondie, plus lots of stuff that took my fancy. ELO etc now
Like Pitbull too, have a nice day

Another little shower before bedtime last night but hardly enough to wet the grass. Pretty dull start to the morning but dry so far, still fairly mild though. Grateful to have missed the storm that hit the south, hope everyone is safe and nobody left their wind out awning up  Whistle1

Morning all
Slightly overcast this morning but dry, good enough to clear up all the rubbish from the strong winds as it is quite still out there.
Rather liked Blondie myself but with LZ I am afraid you have lost me there. Much more in to the Beach Boys and west coast American surfing music back in those days. More recently saw Sting at a concert at Cardiff Castle, awesome.
More in to folk and sea shanties these days but still like lots of modern stuff!

The storm from the SW seems to have missed this area. It was chilly and breezy last night at bedtime walking time and I think we had a little rain in the night. The Lincolnshire Wolds seem to protect us from the SW weather. If it comes from the N/E we really feel it.
I really should wash the Rienza  before our next trip in two weeks but I think maybe later if the weather settles a bit more. Also I  need to be close at hand until management is a bit steadier with her moon boot and crutches.

Still dry here, bright with broken cloud and still very mild.

Watched the beach activity when we were camping in Dunbar last month. All the kids and most of the adults had wetsuits on with lots of paddle boards, wind surfers and canoeists. No signs of a bucket and spade or beach ball though  hugegrins

Overcast again this morning but quite mild, better things promised this afternoon. Off to screwfix to pick up a load of stuff to finish the boiler room after the new wall boiler, good day to be doing it! May just be forced to pop in to Costa as we are passing for a coffee!

Dry and bright 14 degrees so needs to warm up a little, off for a walk around the local village this morning so we can keep away from the emmets. Plenty of birds around earlier and the pesky squirrels too.
Have a good one

Sunshine here and already 18c, could be our last dry day for a while though if the forecast is correct. Hospital appointment this morning for me, bit of prep later for our next trip away.

We must have about 50 sparrows on our feeders, hard work keeping them topped up.

You can tell its getting warmer today because walking muttly is like towing a big brown slug behind me. He enjoys his walk but its got to be at his pace especially if its warm.
I hope this weather holds on for another day because I am talking our son to Saddleworth for a walk round the tops and to show him whats left of were I was brought up. Its not unusual to turn off the M62 at Windy Hill and the weather changes so we will see what happens on the day.

Still gloriously sunny and warm up!

Thanks for the good wishes chaps, nothing sinister. Just a discussion with the consultant about a procedure to hopefully resolve a minor, but long standing, issue.

We usually have the same problem Boaby, pre youknowwhat it was a 5 week wait for an appointment with a GP. A couple of months ago I had a troublesome patch of skin on my back (not related to the above). After some persuasion from my wife, I phoned the surgery on a Friday morning. GP called me back and I saw him the same day. He referred me to Dermatology at our local hospital and I got an appointment 9 days later. I drove to the hospital and the Consultant took a look and said, "right, we'll remove that now". Straight through to surgery and it was gone, I got stitched and out of the hospital in less than an hour  Whistle1 I got the impression they were not overly busy then, but that could have changed now of course.
