Re: Weather
Some high cloud first thing but beginning to go now, give it an hour and should be back to bright sunshine. Quite a few birds around this morning and yesterday had a pair of swallows or maybe they were swifts flying overhead, never usually get any down here. Didn't get a good look unfortunately.
Fitted new ECB to the fridge in the van, couldn't get anyone to do it for me until end August so thought I would have a go. Took loads of photos plus lots of notes and drawings taking it apart and it all went well and now works fine on gas. Pleased with myself as I hate playing with electrics but especially gas as I have absolutely no sense of smell.
Have a good one all

Lovely here too. Fingers crossed the law of St Swithins works, I'm running a Morris Minor rally on 22 days and the field still needs to be cut, until now it has been too wet..!Askit wrote:Happy St Swithins Day

Good luck with Moggy rally Sally , we had one with the twin windscreen when we lived in Ripon back in the early 70's.Skeena wrote:Lovely here too. Re: Weather
Too hot to walk far today, stuck to a riverside trek of a few miles and reading a book at the van.
Well done GH, good job. I renewed the 230v element, with the help of a description from one of our members. Feels good when it comes together

Re: Weather
Hope you did a " proper job" GH, pleased to see fridge is working well.
Cooler breeze through out the night, beautiful sunrise, lots of Swifts,Martins and low numbers of Swallows, Mavis can be heard in distant trees.
Good walk out with Tag in the cool, Gulls still a pain if they hit you.
Have a good day .

Re: Weather
Have not seen a cloud for about 3 days now, our bedroom looks north over Grampian mountains and still get the silhouette of the mountains against the sky all night when like this. Makes waking up for night time visit to ease my aging plumbing more pleasurable.
Won't be long till sun drops down below horizon and window view is darkness, there is no light pollution north of our house as the next conurbation is Ballater on the A93 Aberdeen to Braemar road about 50 miles away.

Re: Weather
That's it then Bilbobaggins I am camping in your garden next time, sounds idyllic.
Another cloudless sky down here too, promise that it will last for the next two weeks so great for the tourists. Busy week next week with new gas boiler being fitted to the house, opticians, dentists so not likely to get any time even for days out. Evening walks on the beach or round the village look like the way to go.
Have a good day everyone!

Pretty damned warm here this afternoon, so much so Lady G has moved from the obligatory position in the sun to the shade! This is unheard of as I am sure she thinks Black Lives Matter is an instruction to get as tanned as possible.

Re: Weather
Moved over to the Scottish borders but little change in the weather, perhaps a bit more cloudy We get home in a couple of days and I also have a dental appointment followed by a visit from the guys who are going to fix my CH, once and for all (if they know what's good for them )

Re: Weather
Lovely day here. Quite warm but a pleasant breeze so management sat on the decking for some fresh air at lunch time.
Me and muttly had a nice evening walk before his bed time. It was nice to be out at night without a jacket.
Maybe if this warm weather keeps up I will take management out for a while this weekend. She needs to practice her three legged walk.

Re: Weather
Very hot already here in Moffat too, not a cloud in the sky. Need to dig out the knotted hankie methinks. Had planned a walk for today but it might be just a tad too warm out in the open, a stroll along the river could be a better bet

Re: Weather
Took an early walk round the Village, it is around three miles, not sure if I am getting older or the hills are getting steeper.
Very warm with little breeze, one of the few days of the year when I wonder why we sold our boat.
Pressure washing soffits and gutters today, the resultant spray may just be a relief!
Have a good day all.

Re: Weather
A warm day here. We didn’t go out, maybe tomorow. Management is finding it difficult to get comfortable as it is and the warm weather isn’t helping much.
I put the fan in the sitting room on the storage box at tea time thinking muttly would like a cooling breeze, he is a big hairy dog. He didn’t like the fan so he sat in the doorway. He has found a place behind the fan to lie and dozed off now.

Beautiful sunrise, clear blue sky and a refreshing cool sea breeze, 15 degrees in the shade, 23 inside the bungalow ( a/c not on yet) .
Nice walk out with Tag before dawn, lots of Swifts up and some sand Martins, hardly any Swallows along the cliff tops.
Kayakers, paddle boarders all heading for the beach in their Dub vans.
Have a nice day, BBQ today I think.

Been up since 0630 staining timber windows before it got too hot. 24 degrees in the shade now and a very gentle breeze with not a cloud in the sky, I could get used to this! Has to be siesta time now and maybe start some more jobs later this evening!
Enjoy the BBQ Boaby!
