I'm very partial to a Thick Lincolnshire Pea (that's a soup, not an ailment )
Bit of a dull start but warm and dry. Looks like it will brighten up later, so here's to later

Re: Weather
With you on the pea Tony.
Few clouds around but warm and dry so off to clean the awning and leave it out to dry for a few hours. Back to painting walls then ( garden walls not motorhome walls )
Staying at home for now with G7 round the corner, lots more helicopters and aircraft flying about, Boeing transporter with JB's helicopter inside flew overhead yesterday. 500 extra police drove down yesterday, all the way from Fife, weren't there any nearer!

Re: Weather
Lovely bright if a little overcast start here at Ullswater. We were woken at 0800 by the sounds of a JCB on the lane at the back of the site. They re laying the road out of Pooley Bridge on to the fells.
Muttly and I walked up the lane to a gate way overlooking the lake. The guy with the JCB was saying he worked for a plant company were we live in Grimsby. There branch in the North West offered him a move so he took it. He mostly works nearer Manchester but this week they are here in Pooley Bridge. A good move on his part.
The plan today is a walk down to the lake to check the steamer times for tomorrow’s walk. Muttly on a boat we havnt tried so this might be interesting. I assume he won’t have been on lake steamers in Romania but we will find out tomorow.

Re: Weather
Dave, which site are you on? When we were there last year you needed to book the steamer the day before you wanted to travel. They were also operating on limited stops. It would be worth checking the website for info.

Re: Weather
We are staying at Hillside Caravan Park. When I tried to book other sites in the area they were full and Hillside said I had one of the last pitches. That is not the case because there are at least ten unused pitches on the touring part of the site we are on. I am not sure if it’s the booking system at fault but you would think they needed the trade after last year.
We walked down to the lake just to check how long it took us. This was a good move because it was very busy making it difficult to walk through to the bridge. Not helped by people queuing to get in one of the tea shops. We will allow plenty of time tomorow.
We could have booked the boat at the shop in the village but it was closed so we booked on line when we got back to the site.
If this weather holds it should be a nice walk along the lake. It is forecast for overcast but pleasantly warm tomorrow

Re: Weather
When we walked down for the boat this morning it was overcast but warm. As we headed south down Ullswater we could see the mountains behind Glenriding disappearing under clouds.
It was still warm but but it drizzled a bit whilst we walked from Adria falls back to Glenriding. Before the boat arrived the clouds came down and it started to rain.
We were sat on the side of the boat that the wind was on so we were a bit damp by time we got half way back and the rain stopped. Walking up to the site dried us off a bit.
Muttly crawled under the seat on the boat and fell asleep even though he must have been soaking wet. He seems to be able to sleep anywhere. At the moment he is curled up on his mat after demolishing his tea in record time.

Re: Weather
It was dry all day here yesterday, grey skies but mild and great for walking. Similar start but it looks like the clouds will move away. Going for the hat trick of BBQs tonight
Hope you are all doing ok.

Re: Weather
Morning all
Just back from Falmouth skies are brightening and it is quite warm. Convoy of 20 police vans just went past but the town itself seemed fairly quiet. Parking very hard though as all the car parks are shut for protesters and press Village. Police everywhere including patrols in the harbour in ribs.
Glad muttly got on well on the boat
Enjoy the day all

Re: Weather
Seems we had rain overnight It's dry and a bit overcast, perfect weather for moving sites Good news and bad news on the bug front. Good news is I haven't seen a single midge, bad news is there are loads of clegs (horseflies).

Re: Weather
Still warm and overcast but improving later, red arrows due to give a display later for G7 but at the moment I doubt the cloud base is high enough. Just followed a brand new Niesmann & Bischoff as we came back from the early shop, very impressive, am I jealous of course not!

Re: Weather
Nice warm if overcast now we have moved to Pateley Bridge. The A66 was misty on the tops but it cleared before we got to Scotch Corner.
If this weather stays dry we will have a walk up the river tomorrow. It should be easier for management and muttly. I believe the path follows the route of the railway used to build the dams in the top of the Nidd valley.
We have had a mooch round Pateley bridge. The pavement is very narrow so trying to distance oand keeping muttly out of the cars is a bit tricky. We have found some dog friendly tea shops including one that sells breakfast pancakes. Maybe if I behave I can have brecky there on Monday.

Re: Weather
Much better start for Biden and his mates this morning, skies are brightening so by the time they have had a natter and a coffee they will be able to go for a surf before the beach BBQ this afternoon! Imagine Angela in a wet suit?? Red Arrows flying today so looks good for that too. Bullfinches on the feeders this morning and blackies making a hell of a racket, think there was a cat around.
Finish a bit of painting outside today, then invited to a BBQ later, rare we get invited anywhere, rest of the stuff in the van and tomorrow off to England (Devon) for a few days. How I love these long haul trips, but it isn't looking good for Europe this year is it.
Stay safe and enjoy your trips all those who are away

Good luck with your trip GH, just remember it's jam then cream
Lovely sunshine up here in Grantown on Spey but there is still a chill in the wind. Tomorrow should be better, might even need to break out the sun block. Had a walk in the Anagach woods, surprisingly quiet but we did have a pair of bullfinches pose on the path in front of us. Might try a longer walk tomorrow, or maybe not. The holiday lark is hard work

Re: Weather
Today’s walk went well but management has sun burnt arms. Applied sun stuff to neck and face but forgot the arms.
It was lovely sitting looking over the water whilst we had lunch. There was a nice breeze to make it comfortable. We sat in the park with a 99 each before coming back for afternoon tea. Why are they called 99,s.
Muttly was getting the idea of styles and gates until he launched himself off the top of a stone style. He landed with bit of a grunt but seems ok. He is a bit big for flying at his age.
It’s supposed to be hot tomorrow, a mountain biker that past us said so. Maybe a more local walk.

Re: Weather
A lot cooler and overcast today. We walked into Pately Bridge for breakfast in one of the cafes. Unfortunately muttly decided he wasn’t going in the cafe. We were warned he might be wary of thresholds. I found a nice bench in a garden off high street so we sat there to have bacon and egg pancakes.

Yes a lot cooler here at Grantown on Spey too, still got a bit of sunshine but the wind would cut you like a knife. Still, just finished our 7th bbq in a row so at least it has been dry, the weather that is, not us

It's a great site Bob, well run and a good location. Sorry to leave it today.
Bit brighter and warmer but there's rain on its way later. Are we downhearted, not at all because we are out
