Re: Weather
Back from a few days in sunny South Devon, escaping the storms down here in Cornwall by the looks of the charts, two days here then off again to North Devon, just enough time to cut the grass in between. Have a good one everybody

Re: Weather
Hope you have a good trip GH, we spent many holidays at a site just outside Coome Martin.
Boaby, our weather was good at GoS. Some rain overnight but dry during the day, the wind was cold though. We had a couple of days at Blar Atholl and, apart from a wee shower (no, not the other campers ) it was warm and bright. Home now and the washing is out drying in the sunshine, ready for our next trip in a few weeks time

Re: Weather
Clear blue skies and a gentle but cool breeze this morning at 0730, beginning to warm up again now. Couple of things to do on the van today, hopefully easily fixed but fortunately neither a disaster. Toilet will not flush, suspect pcb and fridge playing up on gas but we will have ehu next few days. adjusted the burner but now have to look at cleaning the pcb, if not try a new thermocouple before spending £150 on a new pcb.... ouch!

Re: Weather
Woke up at dawn thinking I was back in Whitby, still pouring down after 12 hours of heavy rain.
Fortunately we are pitched up on a well drained lot, in the middle of the race course. Nice new toilet block, restricted use for members.
Have a nice day lads, hope you sort your wee niggles out Hog.
Temperature has dropped to 14, with a 21 mpg wind, big change from 3 days ago.

Re: Weather
The day we came back from our trip it was lovely and summer like. There are jobs to do in the garden after our appointments etc. Unfortunately now we are ready to start it’s chucked it down all day.
If the weather people are to be believed it should be better next week. We have hedge cutting, de weeding and a low wall to re build.

We haven't seen any rain here for well over a week now, water butt emptied from watering the tubs and shrubs. Temp down to 20 having reached 27 on Monday.

Re: Weather
Sunny, warm and dry here too but not everywhere in Scotland. The wind still carries the occasional chill. Couple of things that surprised us on our trip up to the Cairngorms, there's still quite a bit of visible snow on the tops of them and the Grampians. A bit further down the A9 there was a lack of water in rivers with a couple completely dried out. I asked the locals why and they said it was just down to a lack of rain and snow over the winter

Amazed at how little traffic there was on the drive from Cornwall to North Devon, left in glorious sunshine then hit the rain. Still nice and warn though which is great.

Re: Weather
Hope all you folks enjoy your trip away.
We had a weather forecast on Friday for today, large band of rain moving up from the south. By yesterday morning it had changed and the rain was moving out over the north sea and we were getting it dry. The late forecast changed again, predicting heavy showers. No point in trying to plan ahead
Anyway, it's a bit dull but dry so far here. I see Lidl are selling a James Bond like underwater scooter next week, perhaps they know something we don't

Re: Weather
Patchy cloud, rained overnight but an OK sort of day now. Watched a dragonfly get taken out by a couple of sparrows (?) yesterday, we were only admiring it moments before. whoops
Great walk round the lanes of North Devon yesterday afternoon, thousands of tourists around the hotspots and we never saw a soul just a few miles away.

Re: Weather
Not a drop of rain yesterday but windy and cool. Hard to believe we're almost at the end of June, the weather feels more autumnal than summery. Broken cloud today and we still have a chill wind blowing. At least it looks like we have a few dry days ahead.
Hope those who are away are getting some decent stuff......and some good weather too

Re: Weather
Rained all night and still a bit of a mizzle this morning, not a great day for being out and about but the forecast is for an improvement.
Longest day today of course so nights start pulling in again, as you ask Tony where did Spring and early Summer go! From being way ahead with work at home suddenly there seems a mountain to do and time is disappearing.
Enjoy the day all

Re: Weather
Weather has been good, but as Tony say, bit of a cool breeze. Walked round the park and golf course yesterday, just in a T shirt and it was fine. There's been a shower overnight judging by a puddle out in the street, but sun breaking through now, with light cloud. Nice and mild.

Re: Weather
Brighter start with good sunshine but the temperature has dropped a degree or two. We had a frost warning for some parts of Scotland overnight, the longest day we get frost

Re: Weather
Since we came home a week ago I have hoped for an awful day weather wise. We had lots of garden jobs I really didn’t want to do but the excuse of bad weather hasn’t worked.
Even today when it threatened rain I wasn’t lucky enough to get away with hedge trimming. It was a bit breezy but it got done. As fast as management was sweeping up the breeze was blowing the cuttings away from her. I didn’t intervene because I could see her getting miffed.
All I have to do tomorrow is get my wig trimmed so I declare a day off to recover from gardening. Maybe a bit of trip planning. We have a weekend booked late July for our anniversary but I fancy a couple of nights away before then.

Re: Weather
After several dry days we've some overnight rain with more to come in the forecast. At least it has warmed up a bit. On our recent trip up the A9 we didn't encounter any problems with the dreaded midge, even close to water. I got a phone call yesterday from a mate who lives in a small town a few miles away, he said taking his dog for a walk is a nightmare because of them

Re: Weather
Another warm and sunny one, back home ready for three days of intense hedge cutting, fortunately help on the way as son is coming to stay for a couple of days. Forecast is a bit more sketchy though, of course it is.
Boiler in the house has broken down and losing water, fortunately located in a separate boiler room, have a feeling it might be terminal as it must be 20 years old. Plumber on the way hopefully, if he starts with a sharp intake of breath I will know a new one is on the cards
