Rattles
After trying to find an annoying loud rattle we discovered, whilst van was on the move that it was coming from the pan drawer under the oven. Thought it would be the pans, but no it was the button in the catch. Looking around the van we can see that the other buttons are loose and can be manually rattled against the catch so they must all rattle to some extent. Looking on this forum I can see it has come up before but I have not been able to find a solution. As a temporary fix we have put a piece of this non slip matting over the catch and shut it tightly and this seemed to work, but not really a long term solution. Any better solutions out there?

Re: Rattles
You should be able to adjust the striker plate to make the shut 'tighter' or get some felt sticky pads (poundshops usually stock assorted packs or Lidl get them now and again) to again make the shut tighter.

Re: Rattles
Thank you for your response. The furniture doors do fit tightly to the carcass when closed so the pads there would not help. It is just the button itself rattling in the catch when the door is closed and the button pops out. it is at that stage that the button needs to be tighter but cannot see what to do. Oddly it is quite tight in the latch when depressed and the door is open. Could do with being the other way around!Paulmold wrote:You should be able to adjust the striker plate to make the shut 'tighter' or get some felt sticky pads (poundshops usually stock assorted packs or Lidl get them now and again) to again make the shut tighter.

Re: Rattles
I didn't know what type of handle/push button you had on an XL but from your description of the button popping out makes me think you have very similar handles to my Duo. On mine the button actually unscrews so can you not tighten the button itself if that is the bit that rattles.?

Ok, thanks, we will try that later. Didn’t think to do that before. Suggestion much appreciated.

Re: Rattles
Have tried to tighten the button but it does not seem to screw or unscrew from the front. Just wonder if anyone has taken the whole latch fixing off and taken it apart to see if it can be tightened internally?

Re: Rattles
Do your handles look like this? The screw thing looking like a hammer is what is on the underside if the button, (see gallery in link).

I have taken my handle off but can't remember if tightening was possible.

Yes, that is the handle. Thank you for finding that and the link for me. I think I will have to take one off tomorrow and see what I can do. I wonder if anyone else has had this rattle?

Re: Rattles
Many do have the rattle but usually masked by the much larger rattles from elsewhere.

Re: Rattles
I stopped mine rattling with those handles by adjusting the strikers and fitting felt pads or similar

Re: Rattles
Sorry, but could you explain what you mean by “adjusting the strikers”, and how did you do it. I cannot see anyway to adjust the button. They are so tiny, I cannot believe the noise that they make! Thanks.

For info, the button does unscrew from the front.

For now, until you find a solution, as small rubber band round each one will shut it up!

Made a quick visit to van (in storage) this am to take photo of Thetford fridge freezer and yes several of the buttons easily unscrew under which is a securing nut.Dbvwt wrote:Robnsand wrote:Have tried to tighten the button but it does not seem to screw or unscrew from the front.
